Something is eating my summer squash blossoms (picture)
Comments (8)Oh, yeah sorry.. The culprits are the ones that I listed above. I saw 1 cucumber beetle and squised it, but could not find any more. I've seen the birds in there a bit and judging by the picture I shared, it shows more of a laceration than bug chew damage (I think at least). As for zone, I am in South Eastern Michigan....See MoreSomething is eating my roses and where's Sam
Comments (11)Valrose: wow....that's the best photo I have seen in many days. Your cow is so cute....what's her name? Do you use her milk? I remember when I was young and used to visit my grandfather's house that was quite a big house, there were couple of cows there. He always used fresh milk and never believed in buying milk from the market. But that was 4 decades back and we don't see that anywhere in the cities now. Good to see a cow in a rose garden. And yes.... we all miss Sam's short comments that are always full of wisdom. He possesses the art of conveying a lot in few words. A rare quality indeed. best regards...See MoreSomething is eating my veggies before I can.
Comments (4)Nothing I see looks fatal to me either. 1st looks like a leafminer of some sort - you can simply remove the affected parts & trash them. 2nd looks like healed over nibbles from something that's long gone. 2nd tomato pic looks like a leafhopper or other small sucking insect. Spinach might be a slug or snail, since they do love everything in that family. I use the iron-based slug & snail pellets for those guys. FWIW, the rule of thumb is that plants can lose up to 1/3 of their foliage w/o serious detriment. I just trim the bad spots off leaves before consuming....See MoreSomething eating leaves off my plants please help
Comments (14)@jxbrown lowes nearby didnt have sluggo so i bought the bug-geta. I believe the only difference is that main ingredient. Iron phosphate vs metaldehyde. IF there is slugs, they didnt go after the bug geta. But like i said to @vgkg, i did not see slugs under anything. I transferred the plants to a concrete area yesterday and no snail trail or damage to my plants...See MoreEmbothrium
