Yes, even in high end kitchens it’s extremely common to mix appliance brands. Some handles on some appliances are kind of difficult to mesh well with other brands, but for the most part nobody ever notices a difference. I personally have an aging counter depth kitchen aid side by side fridge in ss, (it won’t die! Eventually I’ll replace it with a subzero) a 60” dual fuel Viking range in graphite grey with ss accents, and in the last few years my dishwasher has been the ss Kitchen Aid that died soon after our remodel was complete, a crappy ss LG dishwasher that I hated with a passion and it finally died last week, and now a SS Samsung dishwasher that my hubby installed over the weekend and they all looked perfectly fine in my kitchen. (I also have a ss kitchen aid trash compactor on the working side of the island, as well as a ss Panasonic microwave)

I have all different brands of stainless appliances, I just tried to get the handle style as consistent as I could. I have a Bosch dishwasher (like you I found it handles the odd assortment of everyday dishes better) but I also have a Miele (which is awesome with place settings once you read the loading instructions). Definitely go with what functions for you.

No one notices handles. That said, I just paneled a Bosch 800. Cost was $125 IIRC.

Definitely see about paneling the DW. We paneled both our Bosch 800 DW, and the SZ fridge, and so glad we did. By doing this, we avoided having to deal with messy fingerprints on stainless steel, and we were able to use the same pulls that are on the cabinets.

We have Miele double ovens. No one ever notices the handles differ from those on the cabs, dishwasher, and fridge...because nobody expects that they would be the same.

We love the Bosch 800. It does a great job cleaning, and is ever so quiet. My husband thought he’d hate the top silverware rack. However, after a short learning curve, he found he prefers it. The silverware actually comes out cleaner that it did in the basket of the KA dishwasher, that we had in our former house. The Bosch silverware basket has never been used, and is stored somewhere in the basement.

I agree with what others said. Buy the appliance that works best for you. Personally, I like Miele a little better for dishwashers than Bosch. But they both make great products.

Just don't put too much stock in the utensil basket. The learning curve to use the third rack is well worth it. It uses space so much more efficiently, and it cleans better. I would never want to go back to a basket. The higher-end Miele dishwashers have a particularly nice adjustable third rack. But that puts you into an expensive price range.

You could buy the Bosch SHSM63W55N which has a "pocket handle" that may be less noticeably inconsistent with the handles of other appliances.

Thanks everyone for your input! I will go with bosch, look into cost of panel, but not worry about it if I decide to pick the stainless model. I should know by now not to listen to appliance salesmen/women!

We bought the Bosch with the pocket handle and clean face and it sits right beside our Cafe fridge. Looks great amd didn’t have to worry about handles matching

Not all of the Bosch are panel ready. Choose the right one.

Was going to comment that Bosch makes a pocket handle dishwasher, thats what we're going with to avoid the handles looking different vs other appliances.

Mine do not match and know one notices. I will say the fingerprint resistant fridge is awesome. I wish my dishwasher was finger print resistant because it drives me nuts. I’m constantly wiping it down.

The salesman did recommend the pocket handle. IDK if the rail style handle would look that bad with the range tho. JaneD, I thought the Miele with the fingerprint resistant stainless would be great. But the lower rack especially did not have very tall tines and the plate I brought (with a deeper saucer shape, not flat) was hard to push into the rack.

I have a KitchenAid fridge and range; GE speed oven; and Bosch dishwasher (800 model, I think). I decided to put a panel ready dishwasher, so I would only have 2 types of non-matching handles. I think it looks great. The cabinet panel cost around $100. I really like my Bosch. My dishes fit perfectly. My only word of caution: make sure you rinse any tomato based sauces off the dishes IF you have plastic dishes in there too. Otherwise it will stain all your plastic. I assume this is due to the lengthy runtime, but could be wrong.

Runtime may be a partial factor but tomato-staining of plastic is a thing on all dishwashers. Plastic dishwasher tubs may also get stained. Use of a detergent with bleach in the ingredients clears the staining (chlorine bleach is incompatible with enzymes so a dishwasher detergent can't have both).

My OTR microwave and range originally had the same style of handles but the micro went kaplooey after 15 years. Replaced it with another GE but has different handles. So now my refrigerator (GE), OTR microwave (GE), range (GE), and dishwasher (Fisher & Paykel) all have different handles. There's a big red X on my front door warding unsuspecting folks away, and I can never again host a dinner party for the shame .... LOL!

Watch it! After hurricanes and fires an "X" can mean "demolish this house". Imagine the kitchen the only thing left standing and all those unmatched handles visible to everyone remaining in the neighborhood...and your poor taste exposed to people you had never even invited for dinner!
