Agonizing over this decision! Please help.

I have an entire package of appliances and everything is decided except the following:

Option 1
Thermador Pro Grand
Best Hood Insert (CP47I362SB) - (1000 CFM)
Thermador Dishwasher (DWHD650JPR)

Option 2
GE Monogram
GE Monogram Hood Insert (600 CFM)
Bosch Dishwasher - 800 series

Which do I choose.....I need help. I don't know which way to go.

Thanks for any advice you can offer.

Very few of us here in Garden Web, (Including Me), buy appliance packages. Most of us pick the best appliance for the job.

I do hope you get some inputs about your 2 choices though, but as most here, I have a "Mixed Bag" of appliances.

Electrolux oven, speed oven, Induction cook top and wine fridge.
Jenn-Air 48" built in and paneled fridge.
Miele Optima Dishwasher.

Custom vent system for cooktop from an HVAC dealer in
San Jose, Calif, variable speed control and outside motor.
(Sorry I can't recall the dealer or the manufacturer of the fan unit , but it works well and is reasonably quiet unless
"Kicked on Full".

All of the above have been trouble free for going on 7 years now, with the following exceptions.
(1) Replaced icemaker myself after aboput 5 years in fridge.
(2) Had a screw for the handle tightened on the Elux Speed oven, after about 2 years, could have done it myself but wife thinks "I work too hard", (LOL) so that cost me about $100.

No other repairs/expenses!

We have the Monogram 36" rangetop, 30" double convection oven with Pro handles and the 42" Monogram hood insert. We are happy with them.It did freak me out when we had company over and the hood turned itself on all by itself--turns out its a safety feature. If the range below gets too hot, it automatically turns on and runs until the temperature falls below the auto threshold. In it's defense, I was using 5-6 burners all at once and I probably should have turned it on myself long before.

I really liked the Thermador rangetop look and the star shaped burners, but I couldn't handle the clicking the burners make on simmer (the burners cycle on and off continuously making an annoying clicking sound as they cycle.) Mom has a Thermador double oven that's 7 years old--they've already had to replace the control panel mother board and that was enough for me to take a chance on the Momogram.

Like Dodge59 mentions above, most of us have multiple brands in our kitchens. While have Monogram for cooking, we have 2 KitchenAid DWs and a Kenmore Elite badged Samsung refrigerator.

I agree with Pussuskattus 's 2 points: perhaps give into the hubby if it will not impact the overall look of the area; and be careful of how you put all your elements together. Think of what you want for the overall look of the space. We wanted very clean, earthy lines for our kitchen and we chose a gutsy granite for our island top, so it was a no brainer to go with a simple edge- we chose 1/8" radius edge for both the Black Marinace and the Soapstone we put on the perimeter counter tops. I was unsuccessful in uploading my pics, but I've added a link so you can see how bold my island top is! How will your chosen edge go with the quartz you chose? The other tip I offer you is from a friend who did a no-expense-spared kitchen and who got talked into a two-pieces of granite with some elaborate ogee/waterfall combo: "Remember: you are going to have to clean all the edges." So if you like to clean, you will have plenty of places to chase dust (if not food!) out of. If you are like me, and hate to clean, stay simple!! I am sure you have visited friends who have redone their kitchens. It's much easier to get a sense of what an edge does for an entire kitchen when you see it in context, rather than on a piece of paper or a sample block of countertop. Good luck! Wow, thanks! Moonshadow, the pictures of your floors and stairs have convinced DH that he likes Golden Pecan (yes, we are easily swayed!). We have decided that we want the grain evened out a bit and the Puritan Pine does have a nice color, but the grain stands out more than we like. I agree about getting lighter floors, although I love the look of that English Chestnut. We have two pugs (shedders--- one black and one fawn) and two teenagers. Teenagers seem to be harder on things than little ones ;) Honestly, I think I'd be happy with anything that didn't look TOO brown or gray. I lean towards warmer colors. This is SO tough. I have had the F&P WashSmart (agitator) for six months now, and am quite happy with it. I have had good experiences with front loaders, too, and liked the ones I have owned in our various moves. But in my condo I needed a top loader. I live in Wisconsin, so Speed Queens are easily accessible to me. When I bought the WashSmart, the new electronic SQs were not available, and I wanted more options. I would probably still have chosen the WashSmart. My dealer carries both. I am glad for all who are happy with SQ. Not everyone is. I felt my dealer was honest about the pros and cons of each brand. I did not have to do any special cleaning of the F&P tub before use. I like the choice of auto fill or select fill. It is very gentle and quiet. I wash most delicates without using the mesh bags, and I have never had any snags or tears. The agitator is somewhat soft and flexible, so you do have to be a little careful if you are pulling out heavy towels or blankets not to catch one of the fins. My dealer said the most common cause of fin breaking is people yanking out blankets, etc. I agonized for along time before deciding. I had read the same negative reviews. There is a nice YouTube video of the WashSmart in action. That helped convince me. I made the right choice for me. As an aside, there was an initial problem with the matching dryer and F&P could not supply a part right away because of the shipping strike on the West Coast. (The parts were on a boat offshore.) So, F&P sent a replacement dryer from another dealer. We found customer support lovely to deal with.

Cabinets are going in finally and will be done today. We will be starting to move appliances out of the living room.

Nantucket 32" undercounter zero radius SS sink
Delta Trinsic faucet

Definitely a mixed bag of best for the money at the moment. W have been collecting appliances for several months.
