What bar stool would look good with my dining chairs?

I need help with choosing the right bar stool for my kitchen island to match my dining chairs that will be right by it. I would like the bar stool to have a back. My kitchen cabinets are white with white countertop. The island is dark ebony stained walnut with same white countertop. The floors medium brown wood look, greige painted walls, black light fixtures, and greige dining table. My house is kind of a black white theme.

Depending on your family and life style I would avoid fabric covered anything. The dining room seems to be significantly easier to keep chairs really clean in vs the stools at an island in my experience. For us when we did our kitchen which is open to the dining area I wanted the stools to be very low profile and not be the star. I wanted the island and the colour of it, which is a dark grey called iron mountain to be the star. As a result our stools are actually chrome bottoms and then acrylic see through on the top. With three kids I need to wipe them often but everything always wipes off...I shudder to imagine if they were fabric!

I basically brushed on Liquid Sandpaper (yep -- thats the name of the product) waited about 20 min-30 min or so until the original shiny finish went "cloudy" -- then went ahead and started spraying. In a WELL ventilated area (and use a mask)! LIGHT coats -- almost looks like you'll never finish ((LOL!)) but it works better! Wait about an hour or so in between coats (depends on weather or dryness etc. but thats what worked for me) -- and finally -- a couple of coats of spray-on poly. The key is to wait about 24-48 hours before using them after that final step ..... give the finish a good long time to harden up .....

EFC, OMG, just google counter stools and you will find enough sites online that you can browse from now till next Tuesday! You can even use the store's own search function to specify height, back, arm, look, materials..... During my last remodel I ordered a counter stool from Winnipeg, Manitoba, CA and footstools from Miami, FLA, USA on the same day. I had fun checking to see each day on the shipping company trackers where which item was, en-route. I believe Winnipeg won. It was like my own little parimutuel betting parlor.

Your place looks really rustic, reminds me of our old ski house. What do the legs on your table look like? I don't like your first chair option for your place. Depending on the table legs I think the last two chairs might be a good option. I like the turquoise stool in either that or a cream color. I like the idea of the dark stained legs because of the nice contrast they give to the pine in the house.

I got a new table. Thanks for the feedback, everyone. Due to practical considerations I did not end up going with an oval or round table. In fact, I didn't go with the table I wanted, I went for the same table I had before but in oak. I actually love how it looks. I also had time to replace the chandelier and add a couple more plants :) Thanks again for all the advice.
