Enduring, really like your setup! My new (1983) house is sort of a contemporary-ish, transitional eclectic something or another. I found a great deal on Hansgrohe lever sink faucets and want something that will jive. There is a Hansgrohe model similar to your tub filler but with levers that I need to stare at some more. Boy IâÂÂm a dingbat; once I used your key words âÂÂTub Fillerâ I got all kinds of hits. Just a little flip of the wordage and Presto! The good news is there are a lot more choices out there than I thought (although not huge). The bad news is that I have never heard of most of the brands. For example: La Torre has some real nice looking stuff at a reasonable price. The few reviews were all good on the product itself but bad that it doesnâÂÂt come with some sort of rough-in valve thingy that is hard to find (I guess). Next, I came across this wall mount Baril from the fantasy collection that I really like. But who has heard of Baril? Not me! ItâÂÂs only $380 and must be too good to be true. However, here is the site and IâÂÂm almost convinced to give it a try. Now that I have the right search terms my problem is finding something nice that is not so traditional or overly modern. When I do find something I like it has a name I have never heard of or itâÂÂs something wack from China. Looking at your pic of the bottom of your tiles--your contractor botched that part of the job! The tiles (and the backerboard) should come all the way down to the horizontal surface of the tub. Again, I'm not sure that would change THAT much about your installation--though it might change it just the 1/4" necessary, if the backerboard truly does not sit in FRONT of the vertical part of the flange. So you SHOULD have a problem with the tile work, even if the tiles are straight and the grout looks good. The tiles were placed in the wrong place. Your tiler should have been saying, "Hey, why isn't the backerboard coming all the way down past the flange to be pretty much flush with the horizontal top of the tub?" Also, just to point out how much they let you down: "too lazy to read a manual" *IS* "incompetent." And "wanted to go home" *is* "incompetent." . . . So I could have done a much better job than the contractors we hired. Not because I'm so competent or they're so incompetent. But because they are lazy and did not want to read the manual and do a proper job. And I could have done some things better than the plumber, who was even less inclined to do a good job, because he started late and wanted to get home. I'm glad your rubber band is providing immediate assistance, but you seriously need to make these contractors readdress that--it's not correct. It looks funny, and having the backerboard in the right place might be just enough width to bring that spout back out a little bit. In the meantime, if you want to get away from the blue (because part of the problem *is* the spout's design, and you'll have the splattering no matter what gets done to the tile job), you might consider finding a plastic tube (even a clear drinking straw) that you can cut to the right height, then slit and slip around the stem. It won't build up as much soap scum, will be easier to clean, and won't be as noticeable.

I believe thats just an adapter the converts from a slip on to the pipe threads inside the diverter. If it were me, i’d throw the plastic junk in the garbage and re-do the plumbing to extend the copper with male pipe thread end all the way to the end of the diverter. No more cracked plastic. Otherwise, find your model info and reach out to Delta for replacement parts.

@catbuilder - the short answer: sometimes my partner & I like to bathe together (and a spout in the back of the neck isn't comfortable.) Longer answer: I have another bathroom with a shower that I expect to use most often for showering. While I want the option of showering in this new, master bath, I anticipate taking baths in this tub more often than showering. Edited to add: a few other spout locations would would work fine for this purpose - I just thought centered on the back would look less weird than pushed back toward the corner of the shower head wall.
