I have been a repeat customer of http://www.selectblinds.com for many years. Once I did have a problem with some blinds that came damaged, but they were really great about taking care of it when I called in to customer service. budget blinds sells knock off hunter douglas blinds which hunter douglas owns. they send a person out that measures and installs for 99 dollars. the warranty includes 5 years, maybe 7 but offers a lifetime free replacement no questions asked for EACH blind. my guy showed me hanging options that saved me tons of money! example, using one blind over 3 windows in an area it looked fine to do! also, a side stack is "upgrade" for many patio doors. with his version of HD, it is less to side stack. i compared to On line, 3 day, costco of graber...this warranty is good and better than others. the product reflects and allows patented styles of HD. like luminette. i have a limits on colors it seems. so this line is enlightened style. Yelp reviews are awesome for budget blinds. basically, I am getting luminette and silhouette knock off blinds that tax installed 5200.00. This at the drapery store that sells hunter douglas is about 9800 with tax. my decorator told me that this drapery store was 30 less than j penny for her clients. My bottom line truth is that budget blinds offers a value that includes a person, a warranty and look for half the cost and is slightly less or more than doing the online measure yourself. hope this helps. lord knows i did the work to figure this out. fyi, 3 day has a bit pushy style but they seem to have a rollershade option that prices out well if you like their valance which to many looks better than cassette valance.

hi ladies, I am custom drapery designer. I work alone, from measuring to making them to installing. If fabric is ordered from many of the companies of the trade, our cost, which is half price, can be from $24 yd to $85 and some up. Double that (which is crazy to me). I always give my clients my cost to save them some money but most don't. Of course they do consider the time it takes to order, log it in, measure and inspect, etc. then the actual labor. installation includes tools, gas, mileage on vehicles. There are the same mileage cost on initial visit, measuring, etc. Then include the cost of the proper machinery it takes to construct, which usually more than a cheap Walmart sewing machine. just paid for another $5000 machine. Add all the tools needed for manufacturing. To be honest, if i have a friend or a client that wants some panels, I first tell them to check ready made because the fabric alone cost so much. One client I had spent $1000 on just main fabric for 3 double windows, my cost. Would have been $2000 at full cost. I installed, but when I used an installer for another job, he charged additional $250 for 3 windows in a restaurant for me. So, i think it is high but 1. sounds like they are charging full fabric price, save by ordering your own, 2. the hardware sounds crazy high unless they are paying an installer, in that price, save and hang them yourself, not hard, find a stud. Ultraglide is an awesome cord system if you figure out how to use it. Best way to tell if you are going to like using it is to visit a Hunter Douglas Showroom to test it out for yourself. We find that consumers either get it or they don’t. It’s different than the traditional cords we are used to so that’s the hard part is retraining our minds on how it works. The Easyrise cordloop system is another alternative if you need to go corded and that tends to be fool proof. You just roll the cord way way it goes up, and the other way it goes down.
