Blinds/Shades for Anderson 400 Windows
Comments (2)I recently moved into a house with Anderson double hungs - same issue - (I posted previously on this forum about it looking for help also). On mine at least there is no room to inside mount anything - possibly a shade - have a designer coming tomorrow and will post back as to her thoughts on that. In regard to blinds - a very reputable Hunter Douglas dealer in my area suggested trim mount (I have wide trim) however I finally found photos of what that loooked like online and did not care for it. I am going with a decorator for help (I am not great at window treatments) - her initial suggestion was that for blinds for Anderson windows like ours they typically mount completely outside the frame with a nice valance or Roman shades. Although with shades or blinds down the window trim is "hidden" she felt it looked better than trim mount. I think I will be putting blinds where it is more of a necessity and Roman shades or draperies elsewhere. If anyone reading these post has pics please post!...See MoreReputable site to buy rugs?
Comments (5)We had a great experience with Peerless Rugs. Maybe they have your rug there too? You can't really go by the prices on their website, you have to call them and get the real price. They're not allowed to post how low the prices actually are, at least not with Karastan rugs, which is what we purchased from them. The rug ended up costing us less than half from the local rug store, even though they had a sale. They also included a free rug pad. Comments (32)I have 4 very large 48 X 95 inch cellular blinds from Blinds to Go. I did not get top down. Mine are white but appear slightly gray because they are black out blinds and lined inside the cells with silver. I have Hunter Douglas in my other rooms. The difference I have found is in the strings. The Blinds to Go use white strings for the pulls and they get dirty, Hunter Douglas uses ball chain and is a continuous loop. The Blinds to Go have had to be repaired. The blinds got shorter and shorter over time and uneven. It seems the strings inside were catching or shrinking. I must say that the company repaired them and quickly, but I had climb up 12 feet to take them down and put them up again several days later and in the mean time I had no window covering in my bedroom. For me the price difference was worth buying Hunter Douglas. I purchased them through Home Depot. Also the Blinds to Go installer was horrible and they had to send me someone else to fix the initial install twice. Also the first batch of delivered shades were incorrectly measured. The Home Depot installer was very professional and timely....See Moreannzgw
