ClimateMaster Tranquility 20 Upgrade Options?

RCR LAL

Hi, we moved into a highrise condo a year ago with a Tranquility 20, 5 ton WSHP (1 stage, PSC Fan). We had a Goodman ComfortNet HP/AH system along w their communicating thermostat, which we really loved. Needless to say, that system spoiled us and now we can't be without a fully variable HVAC system. Lol.
We have been trying to find the best replacement for the Climatemaster Water Sourced Heat Pump (WSHP). I believe the actual HP unit itself is very similar if not identical to a geothermal HP packaged unit. The Trilogy 45 now has a VE series for those who don't need the hot water features. So, it looks like the VEV1860 meets all of our criteria (Variable Compressor & Fan, No hot water functions needed). However, it doesn't look like they have a good smartphone app for their igate connect thermostat. Their app was made in house in 2014 and has not been updated since its release (for Android at least). To compare, Goodman ComfortNet uses a customized Honeywell color touchscreen thermostat, which works with the same Honeywell Total Connect Comfort App that's used for most of their universal wifi thermostats, etc. That app is stable, reliable, updated regularly, and also works with numerous smart home systems like Smartthings etc.
We would really appreciate any insight on this matter and/or suggestions for other brands that have WSHP with variable compressor & fan, along with a thermostat with an up to date smartphone app for controlling the system remotely.
Thanks,
RCRLAL
