The room is looking a bit bare....curtains floor to ceiling and roman woven wood blind in the window are a possibility or just beefing up the wood trim around the window as is to give it more presence. A pair of end tables and lamps on either end of the sofa. Another chair in an accent color, maybe a pattern, to the right of the fireplace. Tree in the corner art work in the room. Here is an inspiration room......lamps to balance the TV, round objects in room to soften the square areas, art work on the wall, end tables that match each other but not the cocktail table, lamps on either end of sofa.....if not using curtains at window then finishing the windows out with wide molding to add interest, a paint that contrasts with the furnishing a bit, chair in pattern on a diagonal to sofa adds interest, fills the room, helps to balance the furniture arrangement.....a room takes a lot of stuff and the sofa and chairs you have are a great start. You just need to plan the rest of the room, and shop and fill in where needed.

You have two posting for the same room. Can you delete the one with 2 responses? Lower tv after you purchase a console that is wider than the tv. Remove all the little things filling spaces; little glass table by tv, don't put anything on tv cabinet, remove mirror above couch and replace with art, remove the wicket baskets, the book shelf and candle/lamps on bar. You don't need to fill every spot, you need some "free of stuff" space. Remove pictures behind the lamps, no need for anything there except the lamps. At least get a small round table and forget the bar stools so no one has to look at the kitchen while eating, more pleasant to look at the person you are eating with. It appears as if you have spare chairs to put at the table. No chairs lined on the wall in front of the window, maybe a low bench if needed for seating. You do have to much fur. I love your couch, end tables, lamps and rug. Pick a one or two colors from you rug and see what you find art wise as well as a few pillows. Possibly a tall plant in corner by bar. It appears you have some gray already, the gray appears to go well with the rug and couch. To me the colors in the rug and couch and the touches of gray are calming and cheerful.

Placing a couch centered on the fireplace is going to leave little room to walk thru that area....but maybe that's ok... I really don't know. Unless you replace your current furniture with new pieces that are about the same size, and in the same place, you may be changing the traffic paths in the room. That's why, once you have an idea of what you want, you should move your existing furniture to the way it will be in the future, so that you will know whether you like the new arrangement, before you commit. 30 feet is long, but 13 feet is not really a narrow space for a living room. It's pretty normal. My guess is that your house originally had 2 rooms side by side in that space. If you think the space is tight, look for chairs and sofas that are not as deep, back to front. There can be a big difference. Your brown recliner is very deep. Apartment style furniture can be just as comfortable. Having a foot of padding at the back of a chair doesn't really make it more comfortable - it's just a style. You don't sink back a foot when you sit down. Here is my mock up of where the traffic path would be if you have a U shaped conversation area in front of the fireplace and TV. I gave you an ottoman instead of a coffee table in front of the sofa. And I made the upholstered furniture about 4 feet deep.

Please help!!! New home, so starting fresh. Please share ideas on furniture and arrangement. I’ve thought accent chairs in front of window and a couch or maybe just a sectional etc .... need some guidance. I really want to maximize the space. It’s a fixer upper so we are redoing majority of the home but keeping The Saltillo tile so I’m thinking leather couch, nice rug, add some color?
