6 years agoNo snow here yet and although we’ve had a few nights in the 20’s my Autumn ferns only have a few brown tips.

Comments (12)Jodi,this has been in our paper the last week or so and i forget to go look at it.I live in Oceanside,and i understand there are a couple more here. A couple of years ago one of our weekly columnists set up a camera on a hummingbirds nest outside his bathroom window,that was interesting as well. My #1 son when he was young hand raised an owl from a baby to an adult,also a hawk and a possum.We live on the edge of a canyon and there were always babies falling from the nests. Yes the humane society knew about it,and even saved mice for his owl,and found his possum a couple times when it got away,and returned them back to him free of charge.Both he and #2 son used to help out at the humane society back then,this was in the 60'early 70's before the HS got so uppity,and political.JMO Kathi...See MoreI'll Show You Mine/You Show Me Yours - Th 9/19
Comments (12)That's a big lens, nicole. The type that causes some serious camera shake unless one is using a tripod! OJ, it's just the angle of the photo that is keeping you from seeing the mountain the eagle is flying over. Of course, the mtn furthest in the background was quite a bit taller than the ones in the foreground which probably makes it look like there is a valley as well. It could be said that there is a series of mtns that graduate in height the further one goes. Of course, the eagle doesn't care; he goes wherever he wants - hill and dale, valley or flatland, rivers and lakes. 6 years agoDusting of snow above 4000 feet. Photo taken in the morning - the snow doesn't last very long except higher up on the mountains.

This fox ran along side the road, following our SUV...she was hungry....she limped, holding up her left front leg. I fed her a large muffin and left one for later. See her little pink tongue sticking out? In fox years....I think she's elderly....maybe 7.

Our cold weather will be here tomorrow. It's been beautiful this week. I took this picture at a stop sign yesterday evening on the way to go pick up my daughter. The sun was setting in the opposite direction and lit up the clouds just right..
6 years agoWe don't have any snow here. In fact we have had above normal temperatures every day since December 19! I am happy because family came in from out of town and there were no travel hassles and every day they were here was decent.
In going through my pictures I came across this one from December, 2010. It was Carmelita's first snow. She was 7 months old at the time. She loved it.
