Best way to kill mold on wall before painting?
Comments (6)Most hardware stores will carry a liquid walpaper stripper but you propably don't need it. I would use a qt. spray bottle to moisten the wall, wait 5 min, then use a synthtic sponge and a bucket of water to take off the residue. The sponge I use is commonly called a grout sponge and scrubs well, won't clog up with paste residue, but doesn't hold water well. A wet wall will be slick, but one with paste on it will feel slimy. Scrub, rinse, feel for residue, move on. Wet the wall ahead of where you are currently scrubbing so the paste can soften and don't scrub through the paint/primer. Wallpaper paste is basically wheat paste. Be careful around the drywall patches and joint compound as water will dissolve un-primed joint mud....See MoreToilet leak after tile job. Comments (5)I don't believe you should have a mold issue from a one-time leak that gets dried. You should not have to use a double layer of wax rings to seat the toilet. If installing the tile raised the level of the floor too much for one ring to do the job, an adapter should have been installed....See MoreBest way to miter cut an inside corner molding with hand tools?
Comments (11)A power saw is much faster and more accurate, but in the 70s, used miter box plenty of time, you just have to hold the material steady when making a cut. Coping corners is the way to go, I been doing that since I started in the industry and still do, that is the most effective way. I recently stopped on a tract home development, they built what its called Modern Low Income Housing, and the guy was running baseboard he was butting base in the corners (it's a hack job) but they all about production. If you miter the inside corners, they will open up, so coping corners is the way to go and even if they open up it will not be noticeable....See MoreWhat's best way to install Kitchen tile?
