What did you do today?
Comments (15)Well, I know we should sit on our butts and watch the Jerry Lewis Telethon on Labor Day, but we didn't. We had a stump in our front yard that needed to be removed, so my husband thought he could chop it out with an ax. I tried helping with my mattock, but we weren't getting anywhere. He didn't want to rent a stump grinder because it was going to "cost a lot of money." So, we kept working for awhile - and I was whispering to him from across the yard, "Rent a stump grinder. Rent a stump grinder." I was trying to be subliminal. So he got mad and said go rent the #@$! thing. I left to get one at just before 11 am, brought it home and returned it within two hours. It was well worth the $75 rental fee. My husband has a hard time sometimes admitting I was right and said, "Go ahead. Get on Garden Web and tell everyone how stupid your husband was not wanting to rent a stump grinder. I don't want to hear about it anymore." So I did. hee-hee! And that is what we did yesterday....See MoreWhat Did You Do Today?
Comments (25)7:00 helped 3 kids get ready for school laundry, did about 5 loads all together, folded and put in rooms bought 3 flats of flowers, dropped of recycling bought quite a few groceries, stuff for graduation did dishes, fed all the pets, cleaned one bathroom, made lunch, cleaned to microwave and scrubbed the vent nice and shiny, looked up food recipes for graduation, finished putting stuff back in living room after some big touch up painting. picked up one child from track, brought one child to softball, parent teacher conferences-met with 4 of 8 teachers. Drove dh around the countryside so he could move implements (they are planting corn, poor dh is sick :( with a terrible cold too) picked up softball child, went to wally world for meds and big bags of soil to amend my potting soil. made child 3 lunch for tomorrows field trip. filled out National FBLA form for oldest child, wrote out tomorrows list of things to do while tile guy is here (what a fun way to spend my B-day). I dunno what all else I did, it's sorta a blurr right now. 11:15 I like being here at the end of the day though. no more work until 6:30 am...See MoreWhat did you do today?
Comments (33)I was in London, Ontario visiting my sister who is in the hospital. She had been admitted last Monday because of an infection around her pacemaker that was so bad that you could actually see the metal of the pacemaker showing because it was falling out of her chest. It was a bit touch and go because the Doctors didn't know how they were going to fix it or if the leads to the heart were infected as well. They finally decided to put a new pacemaker in on the right side of her chest and luckily they were able to find one good vein that went across her chest to put the leads in to the heart. If they hadn't found that the good vein the outcome would not have been good....See MoreWhat did you do today, and is it warm or cold out?
Comments (28)It was relatively "warm" (high 40's) yesterday and today. Took 2 mile walks both days. I finished cleaning up the flower gardens - I'd waited until the birds had picked the coneflowers and beebalm clean - and then repotted and root pruned nearly all of my potted fruit trees; still have 2 to do, but I ran out of soil. Managed to lose my pruners, too, wondering if I dropped them into a pot before replacing the tree. Sold my indoor bike trainer which I had never ever set up. I had imagined using it while I watched a movie or even a bike race on TV, but I much prefer the elliptical for indoors, and walking or jogging outside weather permitting best of all. Plus my DD left her small lifecycle also when she moved out. I am hoping that I remembered what I paid for it correctly - I think I sold it for the same price. As long as I never find the receipt I will be content! Last thing today was hanging most of the Christmas lights and set up an artificial tree and put lights on it, on the front porch. I didn't get that all finished - I think I need another strand of lights on it, and didn't get the few glittery ornaments on it. I'll do that tomorrow if it is not raining hard. I'll put up the hanging stars on the porch and in the windows closer to the holiday....See Moreponcirusguy6b452xx
