Fair value for CL matching Camelback Loveseats?
Comments (32)I just wanted to let everyone know the final outcome of the settees. As previously stated, my husband and I went to see the settees in person and they were quite lovely and seemed very well made. I ultimately decided to offer $1200 for both settees and the seller agreed. I know some of you may think that I'm spending far too much on them, but for silk settees in perfect condition that mach our dimensions and decor I'm both relieved and happy. This is one major item I can cross off my "To Find" list. Now I can focus my efforts on finding some chairs to place in the bay front of our living room. -Thanks again to all of you for your advice, suggestions, and opinions....See MoreCan I live without a couch and instead use 2 loveseats?
Comments (28)I know from experience that a love seat and two chairs will work fine. But I don't tend to sleep on the loveseat. I do a lot of reading there, sitting sideways with my feet up on the loveseat cushion. This works well for me. You need to think about how you use your furniture and what would work well for you. There are many variations in size for sofas and loveseats. I'm currently shopping for a new loveseat and I've found that some small couches are narrower than some wide loveseats. So a lot has to do with how the manufacturer is marketing the furniture. Get your measurements and forget the labels "sofa" and "loveseat." Go out there and find something that fits that works for your family. If there's enough seating in the room for the family on a daily basis, that's good enough in a small room. You can always bring in chairs from other rooms or even get some comfortable folding chairs to handle guests when you entertain. Furnish the room for how your family uses it the majority of the time, and be flexible with how you handle the overflow when you have guests....See MoreDAT #8- World Wide Style
Comments (39)Catching up on comments... Anele, so glad you took the plunge to do a board for us. Hand-block prints weren't on my radar before, but they sure are now. Beautiful! Compared to my Silk Road-inspired room, I think yours is much more livable. Annie, I'm hardly an expert on French style, but to my eye your bedroom works. What is the wall color? On my monitor, it looks gray with violet undertones, and I quite like it. Palimpsest, me gusta Cuba mucho. I used those tiles in a long-ago kitchen DAT and have a particular fondness for them (and the Villa Lagoon tiles in general). The black lower walls really anchor the color palette and bump up the sophistication of the room. The Mary images are perfect for a Latin-inspired interior. Annie, your India design is exotic and inviting. The layers of patterns and texture really make the design. New topics: Along the lines of a couple of Annie's suggestions, we could each pull a home from our local real estate listings and do a room for it. We did this for the kitchen DAT, and it was interesting to see the different vintages/styles of homes available in different areas....See MoreHelp save me from buying a loveseat or a chair & 1/2!
Comments (17)Rather than a chair and a half, I would go with the loveseat (for one!) and put your lovely credenza behind it with a lamp on it. (Get one the width of your credenza. A loveseat looks intentional. A chair and a half looks too awkward to me. And then....get a new WIDE credenza for under your big tv. The best of all worlds, no? A couch to lounge on. A loveseat for one. You keep your beloved credenza, and you get to buy a new credenza that is even more lovely! You can put the desk somewhere else!...See Moretangerinedoor
