New summer taste delights -- I have one, anyone else?
Comments (53)Natal, they're *amazing*! I read on one of the roasted tomato recipe sites that someone just kept mopping up the balsamic vinegar caramel -- I've been doing that too -- I take a bit of greek bread or naan about the size of one of those litstle morsels of deliciosity, pick up the morsel with it, and swipe it across the caramelized vinegar on my way off the baking tray (thanks for the parchment paper tip, golddust!). Oh my GOODNESS. They're so incredibly delicious. Thank you, thank you, thank you to you and golddust! (DH loves them too--DD prefers them raw with the olive oil and a touch of balsamic, but not as much as we like) I'll do the next batch (this weekend LOL) @325. Less time to wait :) boop, green smoothies? I have a friend who eats nothing but raw, and she has a monster of a green smoothie every morning. I'd love to see your recipe to compare it with hers (maybe I can ask her if I could post it here, if you're interested?) And I just have trouble with dried pineapple, but that's just me. I've never taken to it as I have to regular pineapple. Now *watermelon*? Watermelon and balsamic? Watermelon cubes in salad with slivered roasted almonds and greens, etc.? I can't get enough of it! I'm like a watermelon junkie this summer, although the roasted tomatoes are #2 with a bullet......See Moreanyone else miss the old washing machines??
Comments (16)I like my frontloader - but I also grew up with this type of machine and hated the "America Style version" The only reason some have mold/mildew in them is because people don't let them dry out before closing the door. Since they are sealed very well to keep water in - you don't want a leak from a front loader even though it uses a lot less water. Just let it dry out before closing the door and it doesn't have any issues. I can add more to the washer if I forget something after I started it within a certain time limit (haven't hit the limit yet so don't know what it is). I can also change the cycle on mine after it has started. It does require to drain it first which mine starts doing by itself immediately and then it re-starts....See MoreDoes anyone else have one of these in a BA?
Comments (43)It's all good Patricia. I'm not one to hold grudges, and after giving it some serious thought, came to the conclusion you didn't mean it as a derogatory comment. There have been many b**chfests on the boards, and some great people have left. It isn't worth the petty arguing as nothing usually ever gets solved and someone who was a valued contributor has decided not to continue the commaraderie of 'like minds'. I needed to take the day off from here reviewing tax 'stuff' with my financial adviser before he takes it to my tax accountant, and accomplished quite a bit by giving up a few hours of my 'forum addiction. I hate when real life gets in the way! Now I need to see what I've missed....See MoreMy latest accidental demo, anyone else have one?
Comments (16)CG, I'm glad you don't have MY luck! If it had been me - that door would've landed on me. Seriously - it would have waited till just the right moment, then SMASH! I'm literally an accident waiting to happen. (Really - I had wind, the only "gust" that day, blow a full sheet of plywood onto me.. Hit me in the back of the head!). I'm so glad to hear that I'm not the first person to do this type of thing - thanks, all - for sharing your stories. Carol - I read about your flooded house in another post - I'm so sorry for you, glad it was a rental & not your home - but a disaster is a disaster, taking your work, time & money that I'm sure you have other plans for. Brickeyee - that's exactly what I'm worried about! I only know enough to know that I don't "know enough". This is going to be... Interesting, at best. Oh well, ceiling needs painted anyway. I've never finished drywall, & I realize the texture-matching is going to be a bear. I'm (almost) 5'3", so a ceiling is the LAST place I'd choose to start learning. However - it could be worse. I could've actually broken my femur... & it could still be too hot for jeans, forcing me to explain why the entire back & side of my thigh is black/purple, to perfect strangers that would inevitably ask. (& I would start making up different crazy stories, each time, but it'd be hard to come up with a story more crazy than the truth - I fell through the ceiling? Who'd believe that?)....See Morenatesg
