Why does the wall tiling in our showers look like this? This is a brand new build.

Is this new? Is this old? Is this in a shower? Above a tub? By the vanity? Is there an exhaust fan in the bathroom?

Just looks like it was sloppily done with cheap tile, would ask to redo before closing!

I agree its very sloppily done. I would also ask for a redo.

The home was to be completed at the end of November, but it is still being worked on due to various issues. This is a well known reputable builder. Many times when questions are raised, problems are denied or there is a delay in addressing the issues. This wall tiling in the shower covers the walls above two tubs (different bathrooms...both having this appearance). We have this tile in our current home in the kids bath and it is all perfectly flat and has held up beautifully for 10 years. Still looks brand new! We’ve been told by one resource the walls were uneven and not properly prepped so that the tiling was not level. We we’re told by our supervisor that he did not see it??? and wasn’t sure how it appeared that way in the pictures we sent?

Use of cheap and/or unskilled labor by your builder.

Its definitely amateurish work but even with a skilled installer I would not align the vertical joints.

When its replaced ask for a running bond pattern.
