BOM 2010 - August
Comments (7)I'm going to put this in the August BOM because I'm still not 100% done with it! I need an opinion on how to finish the last part. I want to put the words "Holy Bible" in the middle of the album. I'm going to ink it. With the fabric so dark, it will not show up very well, so I'm going to stitch a "patch" with the words on top. My question is, what color fabric for the patch? My dh suggested blue. I'm also thinking a pale yellow or something like the background fabric? Any suggestions? Here is the block:...See MoreBOM - Block of the Month?
Comments (61)When I first heard about mystery quilts I was eager to give it a try; it just sounded so clever! But I couldn't participate that first time and was shocked at how ugly the quilt was when I saw pictures of the finished product! That cured me! I don't believe I'll ever do one, although I watch the Bonnie Hunter project every year. She makes some beautiful quilts... and some dogs too!!! (sorry Bonnie!) We should probably note that a BOM doesn't have to be done just one block per month. If you have a pattern book, for example, or a theme you are following, then make them at your own speed. Often, BOM projects are intricate enough so it helps to spread out the project over time and to encourage yourself to keep up with it by setting a monthly goal. That's why I started my applique as a BOM. It's my first applique and even the BOM posts didn't help me keep up with it....See MoreBOM 2019! here we come!
Comments (53)Valarie, If you are still assigning months for the remainder of the year for BOM, I can post a block. I was going to message you, but I didn't see any way to do that other than posting. Just let me know if you need me and which month you would like me to post. Thanks so much :-D...See MoreBOM June 2019 - Frayed Sawtooth Star
Comments (26)More than likely. Most of my donation quilts have about 20 blocks so I am getting there. Theresa...See Moremsmeow
