tree trunks buried in clay five feet - anything I can do to save?
Comments (7)20 years ago the previous owner put on an addition on the back of this house. There is a large Pin Oak about 15 feet from the side of the addition. I would guess that about 4-6 inches of soil was graded over approx. 40% of the root system. The tree has survived this, and is very much alive and huge, however there has been progressive die back of the lower branches, particularly on the side that the grading was done. I'm think I will need to have it pruned, because it holds onto dead branches forever, and then it's constantly raining down sticks. Is there any tree out there that could survive being buried in 3-5 feet of clay?? Yikes....See MoreDid I do anything wrong trying to save my lovely Elm tree? Advise

Comments (36)Already tired of turkey so froze what was left of the meat. Right after baking the turkey I froze the carcass and drippings from the turkey in the freezer for soup in a week or two. Came home from a mini shift at work tonight and was craving sushi. Instead of stopping to pick up some, I made some rice and put some seaweed/sesame seed mix on top. It didn't help the sushi craving. lol I did buy some stuff to make one of the recipes from Hello Fresh, one pot quinoa. It's probably my favorite recipe from those boxed meal kits I used to get. The avocados I got from Walmart today just aren't ripe yet so will have to suffer until one ripens before I can make this dish. I like it because it is pretty healthy and tastes so good....See MoreAnything you would change in this kitchen design?
Comments (37)you have made some thoughtful adjustments to your kitchen layout based on the feedback you received. Adding an under counter beverage fridge and a drink station to the wall with the window on the left side seems like a practical and convenient addition to your kitchen. Similarly, creating a command center with a charging station for your devices on the cabinet side of the fridge wall can be a great way to keep your family organized. Regarding the size of your prep sink, 20 inches seems like a reasonable size product, but it ultimately depends on your personal preferences and how you plan to use the sink. If you frequently cook and prepare large meals, a larger sink may be more practical for you. On the other hand, if you have a smaller kitchen or don't do a lot of cooking, a 20-inch sink may be sufficient. Overall, it sounds like you have put a lot of thought into your kitchen design and have made some smart adjustments based on feedback. I hope your new kitchen layout turns out great!...See Morekikobiloba
