How to select basement flooring to complement existing h/w stairs

I'm finishing my basement and it will have LVP. The existing stairs are already finished (house is just 2 years old) and they match the floors in the rest of the house. The basement is large (about 1800sf) but has a low ceiling (just 8') so I'd like to keep the floor as light as possible. I'm torn between trying to "match" the color of the existing stairs or just go with something that will brighten up the large basement.

Another aspect is that we opened up the walls to the stairs which means we have to replace the bottom 5 treads and then refinish all of the stairs. The basement stairs terminate into tile on the first floor so there isn't a transition problem there. So perhaps I just pick the floor color we want in the basement and then match the refinished stairs to that?

I wanted to do a tile landing at the bottom to breakup the transitions but there is no obvious place to stop the tile.

Thanks for your advice!
