What drapery pole for Heavy drapes?
Comments (6)Another thought...you can use a traverse rod and clips. My traverse rod is from Smith and Noble--very nice--but I recently got this one from WM. It's good enough and the price is great. I bought some metallic spray for the silver one. THere are two lengths and I think the short comes w/3 brackets. Get the long w/4 brackets if necessary. They are telescoping rods! Be forewarned, the projection is only 2 inches. DH said no biggie he will make a paint shims for behind the brackets Here is a link that might be useful: Universal track...See MoreBallard custom drapes? Or other custom drape options/advice?
Comments (0)Does anyone have experience with Ballard Design drapes? I would be especially interested if you used them for fabrication with fabric that you provided. I'm trying to get a feel for overall quality. Also, did you price out similar work with a local custom shop? I LOVE traditional drapes, but they are sooooo expensive to do in a custom fabric. Any advice in general would be greatly appreciated! I can sew, but to do a pinch/box pleat, line, weight and trim a full set of curtains is above my skill level. Thanks!!...See MoreAttaching a Drapery Wand to Grommet Drapery
Comments (4)While they do sell a grommet just for this, if you don't have it, I would sew a ring behind the fabric, between the last two grommets near the lead edge and hang it from the ring. You could also use a drapery rod ring and hang it on the rod between those grommets and hang it from there, again on the back side. You don't want the wand to be on the room side....See MoreDrapes or no drapes?
Comments (22)Thank you for giving so much thought to my project! The Christmas cactus is probably 10 years old... I got it from my sister as a small piece in a pot. The artwork over the buffet is 4 treasured original watercolor paintings by my mother. I know it's not the usual way, but I kind of like how the frames are less uniform and a bit more eclectic. The photo makes them look less prominent than they actually are... There is a large acrylic painting over the couch on other side of room and also by landing going downstairs so I kind of wanted a separate kind of grouping for the watercolors. The vases on the mantle are all ceramic. They are also personal treasures of mine.. by artist friends and from art studios. That's what my thinking was... I really appreciate the help!!!...See Morelm1170
