dcs 36inch ag versus wolf 30 inch dual
Comments (4)I'm not a fan of enamelled tops at all which deterred us from the Wolf. We just ordered a 36" DSC on Saturday. We won't be moving in our new home until end of March so won't be able to give you any experienced info on it. The salesman sold both Wolf and DCS and other higher end brands and said in his opinion the DCS was better than the Wolf. I didn't ask him to explain as we were in a hurry and decided long ago that we would be getting the DCS. DCS is also having a promotion, if you buy a 36" or larger range you get free dishwasher drawers. We are also excited to be getting those as well....See MoreWolf 30' Range - All Gas or dual Fuel ?
Comments (4)The burners are a little different but have not cooked on a Wolf AG so can't compare. We have a place we can go close to my house and actually cook on Wolf ranges. Do you have anything like that? Some think the simmer runs a little higher with the AG burners, but I guess you could always use a simmer plate. The BTUs listed do not tell the whole story and the simmer will depend on the pan-what it is made of and size. I would prefer the semi open burner in some ways. The flame may be a little more straight up but it would be nice to look at and see for yourself. As far as the oven goes, with the DF, the biggest advantage is being able to direct the heat. The roast mode brings more heat from the top to brown and it great for roasted chickens etc. The baking mode brings the heat from the bottom which I like for pies and quiches to get the bottom crust nice and done. There is also a convection setting that uses the element around the convection fans. I haven't used that as much. I am not sold on the necessity of that third element. Maybe I will find something that I like to use it for. on the other hand The AG has the infrared broiler which is great for steaks but doesn't cover as much area I think some have said. I mostly use my broiler to brown the tops of something I made or sheets of appetizers so I like the element to cover a large area. I do my steaks either in a cast iron skillet inside or grill outside. Some feel that the AG is better to bake bread because it is a moister heat. You can always buy a thermometer with a probe that beeps when it comes to temp, and some feel this is a better way to go because it is much cheaper to replace it than the one that comes with the oven. It may help to read the instruction manual online and compare the two in that way...See Morededicated gas line for 30' wolf dual fuel
Comments (6)Three+ years ago I remodeled, and replaced my electric stove with 30-inch DF Wolf (which I LOVE far more than I ever anticipated). My house was built in 1978, with gas heat and gas hot water heater. The plumber did run a dedicated gas line (flexible hosing) to the Wolf. Not a big deal and done as part of the remodel. I've never had a bit of trouble with the flame, output or performance of the Wolf burners. I don't think you're being misled by your contractor or plumber. Good luck. And have fun anticipating your new cooking adventures on the wonderful Wolf!...See MoreHaving trouble deciding between dual fuel 30" wolf or viking
Comments (10)Neither. Wolf has had issues for over 10 years with the blue lining on all of their ovens that have it. Sometimes it happens immediately and others like mine happen 4 years into it so out of warranty. To make it worse, they wouldn’t tell me how much to fix it only that it would start @ $800 and the repair would only have a one year warranty. Some here have been through several ovens because when fixed under warranty. They should stand behind their products, especially with a known issue. There have been some lawsuits over this. My oven can only be used with covered dishes and no convection fan. The chipping is tiny glass shards. Viking gets really mixed reviews. It is very hard to find a duel fuel range that gets it right. What size are you looking for? Why do you want an electric oven? Are you looking strictly at prostyle ranges?...See Morejalarse
