dedicated gas line for 30' wolf dual fuel

Hi everyone, I hope you all can give me some perspective. We are giving the galley style kitchen in our 1926 home a gentle facelift, and ordered a 30" DF Wolf. We currently have an electric stove top and ancient convection oven installed circa 1980, both are being retired. The appliance installer came out and told me that we need to run a dedicated gas line into the house specifically for the Wolf, since the existing gas line currently supplies the furnace and our clothes dryer. Something about needing more BTU's, especially in the winter (we live in N. CA). Is this true? Have those of you with AG or DF ranges experienced difficulties without a dedicated gas line? Thanks, I'm trying not to get taken for a ride!
