5” is too small. How many pendants are you planning for? Two? We have this pendant x3 in our kitchen with 8 ft ceilings (our island is longer so needed three). 11.5” worked out perfectly for us.

We want 3 pendant lights - how wide do you think each of them should be?

I should add that we'll have can lighting and will do most of the "kitchen work" on the perimeter countertops vs the island countertop.

Thanks Ephma - I understand the spacing in between but need guidance as to what width pendant light to look at? I think 5" is too small - I love the 13" round one but it might be too big, right?

Driven by Decor has short ceilings and a 94” island:

Based on the spacing guidelines, three pendants at 13” each would be too large. You need at least 6 feet of empty space (30” between the pendants, 6” from each end) and you have less than 8’ to work with.

Personally I think 5” is too small and somewhat outdated. If you really like the 13” ones I’d say you should go with two instead of three like the example I posted above (her Darlana lanterns are 12.5”). Hopefully others will chime in.
