Done worrying about DH, time to talk about little man's lunch
Comments (19)LOL Annie, little man liked that Michigan Sushi idea. I reminded him of his experience from the past year but he didn't seem to worry. When I asked him "What do you do when one of your friends tells you that you have bad breath?" He said, "I will say 'it's too bad that you don't eat fish.'" I am so proud! Jim, I have never tried lox myself so can't say if it will be less smelly or not. Since fish is one of our favorite foods we never have any leftover fish from the night before. Our mornings seem to be very short and we always end up rushing out of the door so canned fish is what we will settle with for now. Tami, little man has never tried mints before. I personally don't like them so I have a feeling that he may not enjoy a mint in his mouth. He loves tic tac. I bought him some tic tac in little colorful containers with the pop-up lid. So I won't have to worry about school people mistaken them as pills. Terri, lucky you. At least he can still take peanut butter to school. It's an absolute no-no to bring any nuts or anything that contain trace amount of nut to school. Little man loves peanut butter banana sandwiches. I don't want him to eat PBB sandwich every day but once in a while would be nice. I definitely will make the rolled fish bread for him tomorrow. In fact, we have already planned for the rest of the week... Thursday will be sardine sushi. Instead of using nori I will use sesame seeds on the outside. Friday will be BBQ seitan strips with raw carrot and cucumber. It's gonna be a good week for him. Al...See MoreFor CEFreeman: Lunch time!
Comments (27)My cookies never turn out either. I do everything right and yet they don't really taste that good. I don't think store bought ones do either with some of them being truly awful. They seem tasteless or are greasy to the point of being gross. I like crispy cookies not cake like cookies best. I think it's because ingredients have changed. Flour isn't really the flour we grew up with anymore and who knows what else. Nothing seems to taste the same as back in the day. I get discouraged spending time making things using up a week's calories and not even really enjoying it that muchâ¦boo hoo I will try that recipe you posted lc. Linelle, your kitty is so adorable. It looks like he/she is concentrating on how to get one of those cookies back to a safe place!...See MorePatti, time for lunch?
Comments (5)I know. I've been MIA for a while. Kinda got hooked on FB and their games. Trying to get back to 'normal' after a bad year. Now waiting for the flood water to receed at the cabins so we can clean up. Don't know if we even have roads up there any more. We haven't been able to go up since June 1, so it's been a long summer. Don't know when we'll get in even if the water is down, till we see the road conditions. Leslie...See Moreadventures at lunch time
Comments (10)If you must know: a book on Japanese graphic art, artists like Hokusai, etc. 2 books on the Civil War Cottage Gardening by Christopher Lloyd You see, none of the books were priced until you waited in line and got to the lady who was running the sale. Once you got to her, she set the prices and you pay up. So as you waited in line, which had 20+ people in it when I was there, you were amongst books for sale. It was the ultimate impulse shopping tactic. You see, I love books but I had not the time to look at them all and I was there mainly for plants anyway. And to buy plants you had to wait in the line to get to the lady, whereupon you two would retire to the outside to set prices (which departure elicited catcalls from those waiting behind you). So as I waited in line, I browsed the books surrounding me. By the time I got up to the lady I had found 4 that interested me. No doubt I could've found 400. Probably a good thing I did not. Paid 16 bucks for those 4 books. Plants (all in nice crockery): sago palms w/trunks, cardboard palm, 2 5 foot tall dwarf alberta spruces, western red cedar paired w/ a japanese maple in a pot. Prices were a steal! Paid 80 bucks for plants....See MoreLoneJack Zn 6a, KC
