Any experience with French Connection by Garrison? - white oak
Comments (12)We love it, and we are a 2 kid, 2 big dog family who is active and lives near the beach. No fading, no problems and it has worn well, given we have not done the proper maintenance- it looks great. In 2015, we used Garrison French Connection in the Oak Caffe color on the ground floor of our house. We had it professionally installed on our concrete foundation, and our installers were meticulous on the prep: they ground down the high spots and then applied a self leveling compound and then glued the floor. This floor has different finishes depending on the color. The caffe has a natural oil finish rather than an aluminum oxide finish, so you're walking on the wood rather than the urethane finish. Likewise, if you scratch it or track in sand, it’s going to wear the wood rather than the urethane. We chose it because it’s easier to hide the scratches. There’s pros and cons to both finishes. If you’re a dog owner, do your research before committing. If i had it to do over again, i would have choosen a little less maintenamce: the same floor in a natural color with the oxide finish, where the light color would not show bad scratches as much as the dark wood, and I could use more potent cleaners to get up pet accidents without stripping the oil finish off. But we also love what we have. so much so, we are now replacing the carpeted stairs and the upstairs carpet with this same floor. 1st picture is after install, the next one is 7 yrs later....See MoreOak floor lovers - your best eng. oak floor?
Comments (49)Checking, I will get back to you, Whatever flooring you get it may be worthwhile to purchase a box to lay it out and see the color little bit more difficult with a small samples I originally had a different color pIcked and when it delivered they stated that the colors have been darker so they brought a few boxes in and we declined chose another color that we had Purchased a box and when came they were quite a bit more red tone then got these and love love love them These are also a pretty thick engineered floor which would enable you to have more refinishing if you needed...See MoreFrench Oak Floors ---- Stain test and dent pics
Comments (15)Very nice color choices! They all would be easy to pair furnishings with. I think super dark or super light are the limiting colors. To me yours are neutral. I did exactly what you did regarding tests!! i don’t want a broken heart when my expensive investment is ruined from not seeing how they would do under certain circumstances. I try to be so careful but I’ve had a few accidents and it held up well. I did grey oak engineered hardwood. Love it...my dog chases his ball all over the house and they still look great!! The trim wasn’t done here but this is the finished product...See MoreBravada hardwood - Symphony
Comments (82)Hi all, I was trying to find som reviews on Bravada symphony and found this thread. Our new symphony floors were installed by contractor about 3 months ago and was covered with Ram boards. The construction has finally ended and after the complete cleaning I’m first time seeing the floors in real. I’ve always had engineered wood floors but this one to my surprise has so many dents and rips. I wanted to ask here did anyone else have the same issue ? I’m wondering if it’s quality control issue or crew that was working inside did this much damage. Attached are some pictures...See MoreMittens Cat
