I️ would consider a white quartz. Love the granite but it may be a bit bold for a small space and looks a little on the gray side to go with the warm wood floor.

It’s a leathered granite. More blue in person than grey. I can’t do quartz bc I don’t want to take the chance of others ruining it. It won’t be a rental but family using it.

For a lake house used by family, not renters, I would want a long-lasting sturdy stain-proof material which is easy to keep clean. Granite meets all of those requirements, but a less dramatic granite which has some brown in it may save you some money and will look better with your flooring. Consider all the colors in the adjacent space, too.

New floor or new granite those do not work together. Is the flooring running all through the whole house ? If so then we need to see the other spaces too. I love the granite so I would probably be looking at a floor without so much grain and in a cooler color

Ditch the floor. Busy and busy is eye crossing. Get in some black slate. Real slate. It can withstand the wear and tear and dirt of a lake environment. And it will look smashing and supportive with the granite that you love.

what color are cabinets? white? wood?

is that flooring in the kitchen too? If not, and you want that granite, bring in a darker charcoal, slate type of porcelain.

and don't forget, you're only going to see 24" on the countertop (and then whatever your island is)

you could always go w/a wood look tile in more of the darker grays. that tile floor, though dark, is pretty versatile. it would work in the kitchen w/your granite, you could have white walls, bright white ceiling, and you said you have lots of windows. I think it's the perfect match.

Yes white cabinets. The living area and the kitchen is one 18 x 20 space. I want Lvt. It’s going to be in the one big space and down the back hallway. I hear all of you. I don’t want tile and I don’t want to pay for slate. I could do a grey wash lvt but scared that will date itself
