Kitchens Design Dilemma

need help with choosing backsplash and cabinet Connors

I'm in the process of redoing my kitchen. I just chose my countertops. They are quantum quartz statuario. It is white with grey veins.
I need to find a matching backsplash as well as decide if the cabinets should be white or grey. The kitchen is a medium size kitchen.
Here is a pic of the countertop I picked with the potential cabinet I'm looking into placing. For backslash I would like less grout lines and nothing too busy. So I was leaning towards a larger Subway tile.
Any input would be great!!

That isn’t to say that subway tile is the only option, of course. Another very popular choice is to simply continue the counter material up the wall. This leans toward a more contemporary look, turning the counter and backsplash into a singular dramatic statement.

I have also been lurking here and absorbing lots of great advice. I'm very interested to hear suggestions on this, as we're also getting seafoam green granite. I was waiting for the cabinets to be done and granite installed before asking for suggestions as pictures definitely help. Our cabinets will be a medium tone stain. This granite is kind of "in between" as far as pattern goes. Not nearly as much movement as say, Bordeaux, but not evenly uniform, so you can't get too carried away with a fancy backsplash. I was thinking maybe matte subway tile, but wanted some sort of decorative element too. I love the look of glass tile, but it may not be right for a traditional kitchen. Meg, great seafoam slabs! Those are have really nice color and pattern.

Thanks for the ideas and pics remodelfla and jb1176. I took a look at Lisa's oatmeal tile and subway backsplashes, and really thought they both looked beautiful in her home. I've actually been leaning towards using a plain white subway, but I believe my husband would like some color in the mix. I also really like (but not sure these would look good in my kitchen): ljsandler's diamond backsplash... meg's subway tile... Would a white subway or diamond tile work in my kitchen? I don't have as fancy a kitchen as Lisa, LJSandler or Meg. I'm still open to color, but I've visited a few tile stores and am having a heck of a time finding a tile that really picks up a color in the granite. There are so many beautiful stone tiles that just look too gold/yellow to suit this granite. Sigh, this little decision seems to be consuming so much of my time lately.

nosoccermom, Yes those tiles were the ones we had actually looked at already. We definitely need a new floor, the old one has been really beaten up and in fact was only glued around the edges, and it's coming up around the wall in some parts, and overall looks dingy. We weren't sure how the color would fit in with the kitchen however. The interior designer recommended something called "grey washed" is what I have written down. I like the appeal of the luxury vinyl, they aren't cold tile, easy to install, and the grout is actually a better version than regular tile group in that it's not porous.

Cabinets are Thomasville brand, color is Dover Countertops are Ultra Compact. There is graphite crown molding going above the trim to the ceiling.

All I recall about the room is it's medium in size - what is day and electric lighting - lack of, or lots of it? what color is the floor? ok..!

You said less grout is better for you - I like less usually... so I'm curious if you have floor tiles, and with grout that stands out. We do, and it's quite a geometric bunch of squares.
