Help selecting tile for floor
Comments (6)I don't think the darker one is the right tone for your kitchen and the other looks too gold. This tile would be stunning in your kitchen. It's Cotto Americana. I would either use an 18" tile or a pattern with an 18", 12" and 6". This is the Sand color. There's also a red that matches perfectly but it's too much red and too warm. Here is a link that might be useful: Cotto Americana...See MoreNeed Help with Granite Selection for my new kitchen
Comments (9)Good luck with the granite process! It can be overwhelming. I will be getting off-white cabinets and was looking like you for a granite with movement. My realtor friend steered me away from New Venetian Gold because she felt that speckles were on the way out. I wanted movement but not so so much. I narrowed it to Yellow River, White Spring (similar to Tphoon Bordeaux) and Solarus. I elminated the solarus because I worried that there was not enough contrast between the predominant background color (the color of masking tape) and the off-white cabinetry. Solarus had more clouds than movement and DH seemed to like the Yellow River best. I took the White Spring out of the running myself because of the pink/mauve colors. I remember the 80's when I had a modular sofa that it took me years to get rid of! I had seen a gorgeous bordeaux called Manhattan gold that didn't have the mauve but couldn't find enough slabs. So Yellow River it was for me. All I can say is if you have time keep going back because the places I went to (Fairfield County, CT) kept getting more slabs every week....See MoreQuick help needed with foyer rugs!
Comments (8)I really like that rug pattern and would choose the lower right sample. I like any of the choices with the darker contrast color in the pattern. So that would be top and bottom left and right. Not crazy about that top middle with the contrasts in the LR rug...See MoreI need a designers help with a kitchen floor selection.
Comments (18)Heidi It comes in two other neutrals http://www.porcelanosa-usa.com/products/tile/stonker-porcelain-tiles.html I didn't do patterned encaustic cement tiles because, among other things, ensuring that the thickness of that tile seamlessly transitioned to my hardwood floors was a concern in my 1906 formerly commercial space. I know they require initial sealing but am not sure about ongoing sealing. I avoided ceramic tiles because of durability concerns (chipping). There are other porcelain tiles printed to look like encaustic - not a lot, but worth looking for because they are most durable option. These are $8 sq ft. Only some of the patterns shown are imported into the US. http://www.malinetile.com/tile-vives-vodevil.asp These folks make many patterned tiles, but check the tile composition https://www.somertile.com/...See Moreeam44
