OOps, sorry for the double posting!

I replaced two window sills so far. They were only attached to the apron, so it was easy to pull them out from under the window after cutting all the caulk. They were installed by the builder in the early 1980s. I think building a new sill (stool?) is easier than extending an existing line cleanly. If you want to keep the drywall, I would just top align a wide top piece to make it level with the door, an put a similar wide apron at the bottom. You could add a thin 1" trim to the sides if you like. I have a design similar to the one you want, however I added an extruded trim piece to top and sides. You could do just the extruded trim piece on the sides and still stay consistent with your plans for whole house window trim. There are several ways you can vary that style and have the perception of consistency. The thin drywall pieces are a pain to paint, especially a contrasting color with 3/4" or deeper casing. An alternative is to wainscot the whole wall up to the top of the door casing, and design trim to integrate the outlet. You can get an extension box to pull the outlet out as much as you need to.

Thanks Fun2BHere! Its amazing how non-user friendly some door hardware sites are. If you click on an item for more info and click back you have to start all over, site doesn't take you to where you left off. If you find an entry styte you like and click on the page...why don't they show at the bottom of that page other options in the same brand and style such as a matching dummy to the set, OR anything in that catagory? If just a dummy handle shows up on a site why dont they show the matching non-dummy somewhere on the page when you click on it? This is going to take foreverrrrrrrr. Don't get me started on trying to find a way to order a different finish on the interior part of the knob/handle in the same catagory, style and brand. I'm thinking I need a knowlegeable customer service person who I can send an inspirational photo too and he/she can guide me.

Sarah, That layout was just a starting point for your room. There is lots of room to entertain different concepts for your room. Here's another possible layout for you to consider. This one has two sofas with 'cuddle' sections at each end facing the TV. I added an upright piano to the plan. Is this something you own or are you considering a baby grand for the room? Not sure this is the right room for a standard wall bookcase to store books. I'm sure you have an office in this house that might be scaled better to receive a standard 84" tall bookcase. Instead, you might want to consider sectionals that have matching bookcases that border the sectional like this example below. The bookcases act as book storage, display space, and console tables all at the same time. That long wall for the TV is 14ft. This photo below illustrates a cleaver use of a long wall that incorporates a TV and some display shelving if that is what you meant by bookcases for the room. Here are a variety of long walls with large TVs mounted on the walls and ways to address all the wall space that comes with this. I'd suggest you start with a rug that at a minimum is 10x14. It can be larger, as you have the room. Rugs this size can be pricey and limited in designs. Also, it's like hauling 2 dead bodies to move them so you'll not want to do that more than once. The plan also shows a long credenza or sideboard with art mounted above on the wall behind the two sectionals. This might be a great spot for placing a food spread if you entertain. Just keep in mind how large the room is and small items will get lost in this room. Also for you ceiling, don't even consider a 54 or 60" size. Start looking at the big fans if you expect any air movement.
