Watering when I'm gone

User

I need to leave my 16 potted conifer seedlings unattended for 10 days.

Temps are to be in the mid to upper 50'sf for highs and mid to low 40's for lows during that time. Some partly cloudy days.

R.H. usually 80-100% at night and 50-65% during the days.

Media is 511 and pots are 3"x3"x3" and a few a little larger.

There's no talk of rain until the day before I get home so chances of getting enough water during that time are not likely.

Just trying to make up my mind about this.

Can I tent the baskets with a plastic bag? Like you would to keep humidity high, so they don't dry out, for a week and a half? Would they mold in that amount of time?

Everything is pretty wet right now as we've had cloudy cool and rainy weather lately.

I have my spot outside shown in the pictures, there will be some sun depending on cloudiness and if it rains, water goes through the vented steel top but again, none predicted.

I also have a place in the garage with a north facing door with glass that gets some daylight. I don't think it would get too hot during the day (60?) and gets nice and cool at night.

Any other way to water when a person is absent?
