Help! what can I do with these walls?
Comments (3)Congratulations on the space - it looks beautiful! It looks like you're missing two pieces to anchor that feature wall. I would suggest two shelving units styled minimally. You could go with low shelving units with art and pottery above or taller shelving units with more styling. I've included a few inspiration images here as well. It would be beautiful if these were the same wood species and finish as the dining table to add a bit of warmth in that area as well. Best of luck with the project!...See MoreHelp! Comments (4)You did well with the cabinets!!! Good for you! Ask your mother what she wants and needs. Does she have lots of pots and pans? Does she have pretty dishes? Does she need to store a lot of dry goods, cans, jars, etc.? You might ask her first. This might be an opportunity for her to down size her kitchen needs. Also, consider acquiring a cupboard unit that could be used as a closed pantry. It needn’t match your cabinetry. You could add a small island with a chopping block top and storage beneath for her too. Does she have any physical limitations? Things to consider…....See MoreI can't think of what to do to while house, help :(
Comments (15)I wanted dark greys becaus I wanted that in my apartment but couldn't paint, and my girl also liked it. The first picture below this is nearly the same living room I have with the same ceilings, which is what made me afraid of it being too dark because of lighting. The dead dark areas with no light look bad. My girlfriend also suggested the same colors I wanted. I have no furniture and need to buy a whole house of furniture so I cant plan that first. The house is stripped to the subfloor so i cant finish any existing hardwood. I tried the app that virtually paints the walls and it didnt look right. I have 1200 watt work lights and still it cant tell individual walls apart. I really cant imagine in my head what everything would look like together. I'm going to have to do some virual modeling or something to decide what I need... I'm just worried about buying the paint now becaus it aint cheap and the living room, kitchen, and entry are all open. I need to visualize what I do first before painting. So I'll have to figure that out. I also need to upgrade it all from the 2000's. Built in 1998 and hasent been upgraded. It had the fake wood trim and fake wood closet doors....See MoreNeed help with ideas on what I can do with this space?
Comments (11)If that's your furniture and you are not in the mood to replace it right now then I would get a nice sized lemon or other fun tree (maybe even tall bamboo) to put on the right side of the console, and put a round mirror on the left side. Get a pleasant low key rug to fit the space (sisal?) and add a nice stool (garden ceramic, or low back upholstered) and add an umbrella holder -----...... The question in my mind is how much of a splash you want to make as the entrance to your home, or whether you need some real storage here. If it's the latter, think about adding hooks for hats and scarves and a coat rack and a bench, a mirror -- all the usual useful things. But if it's the former, might want a real statement piece of furniture adding plants, a rug, perhaps pendant light or a sconce, a pop modern stool or chair https://www.chairish.com/product/7990472/early-21st-century-modernist-sculptural-fruitwood-two-door-cabinet-armoire Or you have an almost atrium-like feel to this corner of your house, so something in the spirit of the left side of this photo might be very nice if it fits in with the rest of the decor of your house...See MoreK R
