I actually just got rid of a light blue suede couch that i've had for years (it looked great) but we switched it out because we have 2 small kiddos. It was a mess within a year. I would do natural linen curtain panels for the slider and either the same for the dining window or use a roman blind or woven shades there. Half Priced Drapes has very good prices on curtains and they are very nice. just make sure to go high and wide to expose all of the glass.

Pretty room but a lot going on. Yes remove the bench and mirror. Any chance of putting the TV there? It's high over FP and the sofa is quite close. Or remove the console table behind the sofa so it can be moved further from TV. You may need a larger rug
