There's no Closet Forum, so....Can We talk Walk In Closets?
Comments (21)Lots of really good light is necessary. Trying to differentiate between the navy blue pants and the black pants and then trying to find socks that match is hard without good lighting. I'm always having to bring my stuff out of the closet into the bedroom where the light is better to figure it out. I have a mix of hangers - padded ones for blouses, clipped ones for skirts, my Dh likes wooden ones for suit jackets and I like really strong ones for my jeans - and those are really hard to find these days. Costco often sells nice packages of hangers. Think about what you are storing other than clothes - shoes, purses (I have a deeper shelf at the top for purses so as to keep those pesky straps under control and they are in cubbies that hold about 4 purses each), accessories such as scarves, belts....See MoreMaster Suite Design - Built-in wardrobe vs Walk-in closet
Comments (42)I totally agree with cpartist. You are really limiting yourself by staying in the footprint you made for yourself. Considering the investment you will make in the addition, I would want to do everything I could to make this room and possibly the laundry room/office work. I would also think about landscaping. Maybe your bedroom doesnt look to the patio because you move it to the back of the house, but you have succulents and cacti planted in front of the bedroom windows for a beautiful view. I'd start over with a fresh piece of paper and think about every option. I say this because I am doing a master suite addition to my house. I put a lot of thought into what I wanted. The people on this board also really helped me and I hired an architect. We came up with a great plan and will be starting this week on the project....See MoreDo I have to match wall paint of MBR, walk through & walk in closet?
Comments (3)Okay thank you for responding. We do have LEDs in the ceiling and lamps but not sure if they are 4000k. I will try to take some pictures and put them on. But in general do/should all of the walls be the same color between the bedroom, walk through and walk in closet?...See Morewalk-up attic stairwell door options
Comments (9)No-there is no door. The stairwell is just open to the attic up top and the closet at the bottom. Directly at the top, the attic ceiling slopes down to about 1.5’. There is probably enough room for a hatch-like door, but we’d like to avoid that as it will make the attic harder to access given the low ceiling angles where the stairs come up in the attic (one has to exit the stairs sideways while being bent over at the top)....See MoreT C
