Precious Moment Baby Shower Ideas Needed
Comments (2)At a recent bridal shower we played "Bingo" - each guest got a homemade Bingo card, center square "free" and in each of the other boxes you had to write in what you thought the future bride might receive as gifts at the shower. Bingo winners received either lotions/soaps or a floral decoration any of the tables. It was quite fun. Sal...See Morebaby shower idea
Comments (7)I think in these crazy busy days, food as a gift is a great idea! Not just for baby showers, but other situations as well. A colleague of mine who I also consider a friend and my office husband is going to be taking care of his next fiance next week after he has knee surgery. They live a few blocks from me, and I was just thinking last night that I will fix something easy to reheat and take it to them on the surgery day. That way nobody has to worry about either fixing dinner or ordering in/picking up. Anyway, I say great plan and bon appetit :)....See MoreBaby Shower Brunch Ideas
Comments (10)Thanks to all who responded. I have hosted many parties - and always tend to overthink. As I thought about brunches I have attended, I just want to have a few choices with somewhat redeeming qualities. The Olmelette Man would be awesome - but not located here. I will do some fresh fruit with what is available. Local apples should be in. I can get pineapple, kiwi, perhaps grapes. The pineapple would keep the apples from turning. I did find some recipes for frozen bananas dipped in yogurt, then granola. I am thinking of doing them in slices instead of on a stick. I am thinking of quiche as I can make it ahead of time, then just bring it to room temperature or pop in the oven for a few. Vicki - if you have your recipes handy and would care to share, I would appreciate it. I know there are thousands out there!! Muffins, breads, perhaps a french toast casserole - I did get a recipe from the cooking forum. I tend to like fewer choices rather than twenty different things on the table, so for example, I wouldn't do an egg casserole if I have quiche. I do think women enjoy things they don't usually have at home, i.e. quiche. I had done quiche for a shower years ago. I bought it, then baked it that day. Now I know I can bake it the day before, then just bring it to room temperature. I try to also be careful of what needs to go in the oven. Thanks again!!...See MoreI need a recipe please! Comments (19)Last 3 baby showers I went to played: Let each person pull a length of toilet paper off a roll, the one that's piece fits around mom-to-be the closest wins.2nd game, fill a bowl with uncooked plain white rice. Mix in several packages of loose safety pins. Hold the bowl over each persons head, they reach up and grab a handfull of rice and pins. The person who grabs the most safety pins wins. You need a 2nd person to be standing there with a bowl or styrofoam plate that the player can dump their handfull of rice and pins in and it can be counted before dumping back in the rice & pin bowl. It is a lot of fun when you can get male guests to play too. 3rd. game have a list of items used for baby, scramble words and see who is first to unscramble correctly all words. You can see I have been to baby showers with the past 6 months. Oh, nice suggestion, ask everybody to give a book instead of a card with gift. I found a baby cloth book at one of the craft shows I did for last baby. Mom-to-be really liked it....See More- 6 years ago
