What about using blue baby rattles instead? Add greenery and baby's breath.

I did the centerpieces for grandson #2 a few years ago..Same problem, blue flowers..So I used white, baby's breath, blue ribbons, and lollipops in blue..easy to find now for Easter

Grandchild #4 Christening in a few weeks. Since it will be March, and we are Irish American, I am am going with a green and white theme. I will post pics afterwards. I didn't have a digi cam for the last 3's Christening centerpieces I made.

Thank you for your input and ideas! I have also seen some cute diaper cake ideas. I love to cook- so my time is going in that direction. I need something pretty simple for the centerpiece.

For my daughter's baby shower we had a small tabletop white tree - the kind you can hang Easter decorations from. We too blue jelly beans and two white life savers and made pacifiers and hung them on the tree with blue ribbon. So simple to do and it was really cute. As favors, we took small teddy bears, blue 4" lace and blue ribbon, gathered the lace around the neck of the bears, cut slits for the arms, tied a bow at the neck, added the brass wedding rings (from the craft store) for halos and gold mesh ribbon for the wings. We attached a poem about the birth of twins (we have identical twin boys) and passed them around in a basket for all to take one home. They were a big hit at the party.

Wow, great ideas! Love the tree with the pacifier from candy idea.

I've seen those really large plastic baby bottles too. That would be cute and then maybe some small pastel ones with candies for favors.

Oh My great ideas - I love the pacifier idea also! How did you connect the jelly bean to the life savers-glue gun?I am having a friend make "tag luvies" soft mini blankies about hankerchief size. I thought I would use two of those to lay on the table with babies name embroidered on each and put a floral centerpiece with the cute pacifier idea you suggested,paintingfool.How should I attach them to the centerpiece? Maybe put them on floral sticks?

You can make the pacifiers by laying one lifesaver on the table, turn the other lifesave up so it sits in the hole of the first lifesaver, glue with the glue gun. The lifesaver standing up will be the one to put the ribbon through. Once it is dry, turn it over and glue the jellybean in the opposite center. These aren't for eating, just decorations. For the centerpiece, I would glue them onto skewers or floral sticks and stick them into the flower arrangements. You could still tie a small ribbon on the bottom of the pacifier.

I saw a really neat pacifier the other day on Donny Deutch show. It was a pacifier attached to the back head of a teddy bear. It was perfect because the baby could hold onto the bear while enjoying his pacifier.
