Baby Shower Fall Decor Conundrum. Advise Please!

I've hosted many a baby shower, though never in autumn, and one coming up is the end of this month. Just began my usual ( favorite season) decorating, and suddenly wondered if my dining room buffet will look
inappropriate in its usual finery. The pic is my decor at a friends house. Mine would be larger , but that's the idea. The baby is a girl, which adds to the problem. Pink and autumn don't work. I could tuck some baby- cuteness in among the pine cones...ideas? Or,If I put this arrangement elsewhere for that day, what, other than pinky things, can you suggest ? The rest of house will be decked out in autumn. Should I go all pink, etc. In dining room ( open to largish entry hall and living-room: all in autumn), or would it look really off?
I know, it really doesn't matter, but would love your opinions and ideas

P.s . The centerpiece and table decor will be baby sweet, but not all pink. Another area to figure out. Will hang baby mobile from chandelier.

I see no reason for you to put some pink cuteness in with the pine cones or remove your fall decor. But then I'm not one that goes overboard on decorating for a party either. I only do the colors in the items needed for the party and leave my home decor alone.

HI... I thought that I put a post here... wonder where I did? I actually got the package on the 14th I remember because it was flag day.... I will repost.. THank you so much Paula, for the great box.. I rec. delphin. (sp) and I have always wanted these as well as two coreopsis. An awesome Frog statue for my mantle and a bell chime.. Deb included a picture of herself and what a hottie!!! I can't wait to get the film developed to see the gardens I am just trying to use up the film as not to waste it.. I am super glad that everyone had so much fun and I am sorry it took so long.. Maybe next time I can think of something that won't be so confusing Oh yeah I hit the jackpot with all the great seeds you all included... Thanks again for playing.. Heather, I just happened to see your post about posting pictures. It's weird because I haven't been reading this thread except for the day after it was initiated and for some reason I just figured I'd click on it and skim quickly through. Anyway, here's how to post pictures.... My DS's room is not brand new or coordinated at all. I'm a BIG believer in re-using and re-cycling things. I have a second hand crib, dresser, changing table and carved oak wardrobe. Paid $150 for ALL of it. I have refinished all the pieces so that they look nice. I have a really comfy upholstered rocking chair I got at one of those half-off of half-off sales. Paid $100 for it. Got a bookcase for free, from a school that my husband and I volunteered at. They were getting new furniture, and this one particular bookcase was going to be tossed out. They gave it to me, and I brought it home and fixed it up. As far as wall decor....I got some cool peel-n-stick things that have all kinds of fun, colorful images....bumblebees, snails, spiders, flowers, ladybugs. I can peel them off the wall and move to another location, if I want. $4 at the DIY (do it yourself) store in town. The curtains I got in a second hand shop. They are designer curtains (lined and everything) that have sailboats, stars and moons, houses, airplanes... They look awesome, and I paid about $15 for them. I went to some shops in town around Christmas, when they had all their xmas displays in the windows. I asked them what they were going to do with those decorations after the holidays. Most had plans to re-use them again next year, but one shop had extra decorations and just GAVE me some. What they are, are pieces of cardboard that have different colored metallic surfaces....purple, red, blue, green. They were hanging down - about 8 pieces of cardboard to each strand - in the display window, and made cool, different colored patterns on the clothes when they reflected the light. I took them home, and shortened them - 4 to a strand - and hung them from the ceiling in DS's room, near the window. The reflected patterns on the ceiling and walls are so neat, and DS LOVES to watch them. Again, the shop gave those to me, because I had the nerve to ask, so they were FREE. Other things - sheets for the crib (I have 4 sets), the rug -I got on sale (like, MAJOR sale) for a grand total of $40. So...all totaled (minus my own labor and refinishing materials), my kid's room cost me $309.00 . I had to squeeze all the work around my full-time job at the bank, but I considered it a labor of love.

White, Black or Stainless? Please advise on fridge (pics)

I vote for a white fridge. Your dishwasher is directly across, and even with a panel change you would still have a fairly large portion of the top white. Have you thought about beadboard? It's sold in big sheets and is fairly inexpensive. I attached a site to show you how a beadboard kitchen would look. This one has SS appliances but note that it is also playing off a gray. Since you have plain face front cabinets, already painted, this might be a fairly inexpensive way to jazz up your kitchen. Note how they ran beadboard in the soffet area above the cabinets. Also, it was used as a backsplash. Buy sheets of inexpensive beadboard and molding and frame out new fronts using your existing cabinet doors. Then run it around the back of the bar. Change out the knobs. It looks like your overhead fan vent is a fairly inexpensive model. Probably wouldn't be too hard to remove, clean, and spray white. Paint the old paneling white until you can afford to replace it with beadboard. I think the white would go well with both your current counters and floor. However, you could also go with a glazed look if you decide to try the beadboard. Here is a link that might be useful: Beadboard kitchen

If it were me hosting, I'd probably put the fall stuff at the part area away for the day. I'd have a hard time visually working around fall decor with baby stuff in the same area, iykwim.

I was just looking around for baby boy shower ideas and favors and thought these were kind of sweet for a 'fall theme' or "our little pumpkin theme"......easily adaptable to any color ribbon.....I would go with satin ribbon with the burlap, seems softer......it doesn't work for what I am doing but who doesn't love mini-pumpkins?!?

Search on Pinterest, there are many ideas even and color schemes.......

Shee, yes i do kwym, and just might do that. Just gottabe, I'm not big on the party balloons/ streamers kind of thing either, but this fall decor seems just off. MTN, your pic inspired me to find this photo of my fav roses: pink and apricot together. I may even have some blooming then. Think I'll just use my white table cloth and scatter baby pink thingies ( confetti sort of) , flower bowl of rose, pinks and oranges, and baby's breath...natch.

Use all baby things: acorns, baby punkins with bows tied around the stem in the color of the baby gender, if you know it, or both pink and blue if you don't.

My DD just recently did a one year old baby girl birthday party using a cute "woodland" theme featuring owls, birds, etc in pastels (blues, greens, pinks, yellows). It turned out very girly. She picked up some odds and ends at Party City and Hobby Lobby, ordered some things (paper products and cutler) that coordinated with it from Oriental Traders. It was VERY CUTE and could be used for a baby shower.

DD has a talent for mixing and matching - she threw in some of those "gawdy" paper lanterns in solids, some coordinating polka dot balloons, etc and created a beautiful party for baby girl.

Is there a reason you think you need to use a lot of pink?

Pink and orange can work well together.
