Exterior paint and roof colors for Florida home?
Hello! We are getting a new tile roof (flat tile as opposed to the current "s" shape) and hoping to make our home look a little more contemporary/updated in the process. I would love to get advice on roof and exterior paint colors as I'm a bit overwhelmed by the possibilities. We were thinking a either a tan, brown, or grey toned roof but then we weren't sure what to do with exterior paint and trim colors. Thank you!

I just painted my new craftsman in SW FL with Sherwin Williams 7726 Lemon Verbena for the hardie siding on top, SW 7733 Bamboo Shoot for the stucco on the first floor and SW 7730 Forestwood for the trim. I just personally love greens for a craftsman house but felt that with the light in FL, the greens had to be a bit cleaner and brighter than what is normally chosen for the rest of the country. Comments (8)Here's what I recommend for your home. Embrace the lovely California Santa Barbara style for your home. Your home can be very special with a few adjustments. All the window frames should be bronze. Either replace them or paint them. Add a wood or faux wood wall pergola over your garage door and start bougainvillea trailing from the trellis Either select a wood grain garage door or have it painted to match your front door If you want to spend more money select Mexican tiles to install on the risers of your stairs for more interest. Your front yard needs some serious landscaping. No lawn IMO. Maybe ferns and a palm tree. Ferns in the front yard. Mexican planters are a must. You want this look for your home IMO. I think that style fits your home.
I just redid mine. these are actually a charcoal blend, but look very light gray once on the roof(I should stand in my neighbors yard to get a picture in the back. they have the best view of my roof!)

Beth, your home looks great! I'm in SWF and like Megan, am selecting a new roof and paint color. My house has Mediterranean pillars so I'm thinking I need to stay in that mode, and that greys and browns are too modern for my house style. Yet I'd like a fresh, modern look. Do you think this is a good compromise?
