Boy, this Post title gave me a start. He's been gone for close to 15 years? Then I finally saw the Youtube link. :) I have seen the ads from "As seen on

TV" for CD's of several years of his shows that look so good, too. I remember

Robin Williams almost destroying him when he was on. LOL

Does anyone remember the drunk.......Foster Brooks?? Who in reality, never drank at all.

I get Johnny on antenna tv 7 days a week... and I watch him almost daily. But this was the BEST episode ever, since I started watching him again.

ain't that the truth! the crud on TV now isn't worth watching. I never watch the 'talk shows' they have on now. Growing up (at least in HS) I always watched Johnny. Even after I was out of school and married, we watched Johnny before calling it a day.

I didn't watch this show a lot, but was very fortunate to catch it one day when Jonathan Winters was the guest. He was hilarious, so funny! I wasn't surprised to hear Robin Williams say once that Winters was one of his humor role models.

The animals with Jim Fowler and Johnny were comedy gold.

I watch Johnny Carson every night, wish they would just start running the show from the beginning with even the guest hosts.

I agree that Johnny Carson and most of his guests were the absolute best. (Except Foster Brooks. Unfortunately I don’t see the humor in drunkenness. Or, in his case, the impersonation of drunkenness.)

DH and I just watched a clip of Drew Barrymore at age seven. She was so adorably funny. Her duel personality of childlike and suddenly adult comments tossed in reminded us so much of our 7 year old grand daughter who is 7 going on 30. Just don't want DGD to have the rough pre-teen/teens Drew had.

There will never be another Johnny Carson. We watched him every night when he was on.

stacey_mb Jonathon Winters was a great guy outside of the entertainment field also. DD and her friend met him once when they were around 13 when he came into her friend's father's gun shop. He joked with the girls, chatted them up and took a pic with them before making his purchase.

Ah..I miss Carson so much. As newlyweds in the 70's my husband and I watched every night. As much as I like Jay Leno, when he took over for Carson I was fairly disappointed in the show after that. Nobody had the cool panache and understated elegance that Johnny had.

I don't think anyone did droll facial expressions or amused and unbelieving glances like Johnny Carson. These communications to the audience just highlighted all the humor in his shows.

I went to one taping of Johnny Carson back in 1982, I believe. I was visiting Los Angeles from San Francisco with a friend who wanted to see Johnny in person. I don't remember much about that particular show.

My favorite guest was Jonathan Winters, but I also liked Don Rickles. I liked Foster Brooks when he was on the Dean Martin Roast of Don Rickles.
