Comments (43)Love your bathroom! One more question about the Mendota, please. How do like its water depth? Do you guys use it to take baths or just showers? I'm back and forthe between the Mendota and the Bellwether. I wish, Iwish, I wish, there was someplace that carried both and I could just see and measure for myself. According to the Kohler provided specs: The 60 x 32 Bellwether is 15 1/2 inches high, and the water depth is 11 5/16. The 60 x 32 Mendota is slightly taller - 16 1/4 inches, but the water is 10 7/8. I'd prefer the Mendota because the Bellwether has that sloped front end which shortens the basin, so you get an extra 2 inches in the Mendota. I just don't know what to do....See MoreMaster Bath Remodel - Before and After pics
Comments (30)Lovely bathroom. Did you use a schluter system for the entire shower or just the floor and drain? FWIW I like your bath so much we've been using it as a basis for our Master remodel. The color we selected for our cabinetry is a bit deeper brown and we are opting for a solid gray shower tile by Foussana. The difficulty we are having is finding a faux marble tile for the floor that doesn't look either lifeless or doesn't have a repeating pattern. Your floor tiles are very nice although I'd prefer either matte or honed on the floor. Sadly neither of those finishes ever seem to have the depth and wow factor of the gloss tile in your bath. I can't find a dealer in our State with your brand although we are still searching. We may end up with real Marble on the floor but that's not my first choice. Thanks for sharing your photos and details of your build. We already feel your pain on the cost and time frame!...See MoreBefore & After Half Bath
Comments (15)We also have a pedestal sink in our ground floor powder room. No vanity, no medicine cabinet, just a mirror on the wall above the sink. For storage I added a couple of IKEA pieces (a small white melamine dresser and another small IKEA melamine cabinet with shelves and a door) but they now look quite naff after 33 years. I was thinking to buy something new to replace those melamine pieces but IKEA no longer has anything interesting. It was my dad's fault that we got a pedestal sink in the first place, he thought it would be stylish and European.... Yeah, he also got that for their condo but later had a vanity built around it to enclose it after Mom complained about the total lack of storage. After reading this I just got the idea that I'm looking at the wrong solution. I should replace the pedestal sink with a vanity with a marble top and built in sink. It all needs to be white because the walls and floor are ceramic in white and a light pink abstract pattern and I have no intention to change the ceramics. Thank you!...See MoreDD2's MCM Master Bath - Before & After
Comments (25)That looks so good. I was squinting and counting the 4" tiles in the original shower and came to the conclusion it was 28" x 28" -- same as the one in my ca. 1954 master bath. Mine also has a frosted glass door, which completes the entombment vibe. I can't wait to redo the bathroom, and hope it turns out half as well as your DD's....See MoreLion Windows and Doors
