Thanks for the comments. Yes, the vanities are Berch Osage...cherry wood with dawn stain. The paint is called Grizzle Gray, from Sherwin Williams. We were on the fence between two paint colors so I'm glad to hear those positive comments!

The floor tile from Porcelanosa is a 23"x23" called Calacata Silver. The wall tiles are a 12"x35" tile called Mosaico Rodano Silver...they actually have some depth/texture to them which I didn't capture too well in the photos. It made the tile a bit difficult to work with, but the result is great. Shower floor tile is a 4"x4" called Slate Bahia.

Running the mirrors basically all the way to the ceiling was definitely a design element we "borrowed" from some pics found on houzz. We weren't expecting to have to use mirror clips, but our contractor really advised it with the tall heavy mirrors. We ending up finding some nice looking metal ones from CRL (kv268).

Your bathroom turned out beautiful and I'm glad you decided not to wall your toilet in. The room is so open and bright. The picture on the wall really adds to the room and your shower, tub and vanities look great. The shower is especially nice.

Yes I did have an earlier thread about a potential toilet closet, and received lots of helpful feedback (thanks for your comments there Karenseb!). Houzz and gardenweb have been great resources! For our bathroom use, I'm glad we decided to just keep it open.

Thanks for your comment about the picture...it's a 48"x36" canvas print of a shot I took on a recent trip. (It was purchased from greatbigcanvas...with their common coupon codes the prices aren't too bad for what you get.) I thought the color and look of the photo would go well with the new bathroom. The remodel has just recently been finished, so we haven't had much time to use the tub. In general though, we are more shower people, so I doubt it will get much use. But it sure does look nice. ;)

Using the shower together with both showerheads running at the same time has been fun! No one is left out in the cold.

As awesome as the retro glass was the bathroom looks so much better now. It also looks so much bigger! The tub is beautiful, although I am a huge fan of jet tubs, I still want to take a bath in that one. I like how the bathroom still looks bright even though the color scheme is grey. Great job! I'm very jealous.

I love this reno! Our bathroom has the exact same layout as this one, albeit not quite as big (I think). I'd be curious to know what your overall budget for this renovation was. We want to renovate our own bathroom but are holding off a few years since we fear it will be very expensive.

Thanks for all the comments. Our overall cost ended up being more than we originally had hoped…surprise surprise. This final cost was from $35-40k, probably closer to $40k, which included around $20k in "materials": tub, toilet, sinks, vanities, lighting, fixtures, tile, quartz, blinds, etc. Let me know if you have questions about the cost of specific items.

The job took a total of four months, which was a lot longer than we were quoted--again another surprise surprise--due to a number of little issues and setbacks along the way. It was certainly an annoying, stressful, and expensive process, but now that it's over it definitely feels worth the trouble and expense. I guess that's the way it usually goes with remodels.

May I ask where did you find your hampers?

We found the hampers on the Bed Bath and Beyond website. In general, they are good quality although they did wobble a little out of the box. This was easily fixed with some felt pad stickers applied to the bottom to level them out.

Since I posted my appreciation of your bathroom up above, I've since done a serious "slip and fall" on my way into work. I'm looking at that shiny floor and shuddering. Mind you, it is lovely --- but it looks dangerous atm.

Very sorry to hear about your fall. The tile is shiny but isn't too slippery when dry at least. Porcelanosa sent a spec sheet (for the Calacata Gold) that says it has a COF of 0.82 when Dry and 0.51 when Wet. Who knows if those numbers are really accurate though.

We will certainly try use the bathroom with care…it is a master so we shouldn't have to worry about others using it. We also decided against a support bar for the glass panel next to the shower door, so it isn't supported on two sides. It really seems fine, but we do need to make sure nobody slams the glass door or bashes into that panel. Form over function, right? ;)

I'm discovering that there are things such as temporary grab bars if you ever have to navigate on crutches. (My current bath is so small I just grab onto the sink or window ledge.)

Lovely bathroom. Did you use a schluter system for the entire shower or just the floor and drain? FWIW I like your bath so much we've been using it as a basis for our Master remodel. The color we selected for our cabinetry is a bit deeper brown and we are opting for a solid gray shower tile by Foussana. The difficulty we are having is finding a faux marble tile for the floor that doesn't look either lifeless or doesn't have a repeating pattern. Your floor tiles are very nice although I'd prefer either matte or honed on the floor. Sadly neither of those finishes ever seem to have the depth and wow factor of the gloss tile in your bath. I can't find a dealer in our State with your brand although we are still searching. We may end up with real Marble on the floor but that's not my first choice. Thanks for sharing your photos and details of your build. We already feel your pain on the cost and time frame!

Thanks for the nice comments. I honestly don't know too much about schluter systems and what exactly was used…we left this for the most part to the contractor. We did use schluter edging in some places (around the niches, where the tile meets the window, and on two edges of the bench), but we kept that to a minimum (putting the thinner metal side showing outward). But as far as the waterproofing around the shower, I'm not sure.

Good luck with your tile search. Keep up the hunt…I'm sure you will find something nice that you're happy with. Try not to settle! ;)
