dining room buffet as a TV console?
Comments (4)Hi, I recently did this. I used a Guy Chaddock sideboard to house all of the components. We then hung a 55" plasma on the wall above it. We have a powerful universal remote that works with the doors closed to the sideboard. I worked with the stereo guys to customize the piece -- meaning I had to get the dimension of each piece of tv/AV equipment that was going into the sideboard to make certain there was enough room. Also, many of the tv/AV components generate heat, so we had to be certain that there was enough room for ventilation. Finally, they had to drill holes in the back of the sideboard for all of the wires. It looks really good and you would never know we had so much equipment in there. We also have 4 drawers in the sideboard which is great for housing dvd's, etc. Good luck!...See MoreLove this piece! Could it be a TV console?
Comments (10)I love the hinged top drawer idea! That is exactly why I posted, thanks F2BH. Would you mount the TV on the wall above or just house it on the dresser? Pre-reno the TV was mounted on the wall awaiting a nice stand but never got the chance to get one before we had the "pipe freeze-up" prompting the gut job! So I have all the mounting hardware if I decide on wall mount. Plus it has an adjustable arm since it is in a corner. Thoughts?...See Moreliving room to watch TV and looking nice when not watching tv
Comments (17)Can you take a picture from the sliders to the wall across and plant wall towards dining? I think you should nail down the layout first. I agree with above, the first and last are too bulky and don't go in a livingroom. You have a lot of brown already, but the middle could work with a light rug, and lighter side chair/tables. The pros here can really help with layout so you don't cover windows and doors with furniture. From what I see now, the tv can go on wall with the plant with sofa facing... You have a pretty space to work with!...See MoreLiving Room TV Wall
Comments (7)@mcarroll16 thats a good point, no I dont necessarily need more seating. I will definitely consider this! I saw this photo on Pinterest that I really liked but we dont have the resources to do something similar right now so I think I automatically thought of a trunk. But thats a good point if I had something longer and just as high, it might actually be more storage....See Morelulu bella
