Thanks for asking doraville! My painter tried another light tan. It was awful but I let him take his turn. For my turn, I chose SW Dried Thyme.....perfecto! If it didn't work, I was going to go through with a professional consultation...... It's a dark-ish green (thanks alabamanicole!), slightly on the cool side, I'd call it a fresh tone. Not warm, not really a cool either IMO. So, the green will go in the kitchen and breakfast nook. The kitchen is separated from the main part of the house by 2 doorways and a big pass-thru. I'm going to get an almost match off-white for the trim in the kitchen and breakfast nook so I don't have any bright white near my cabinets. I'm feeling good about it again. My backsplash material was brought in today and now I'm back to being terrified of tile. What if it looks terrible, ugly, weird? etc. If I could rewind, I'd consult a KD for sure............. If it weren't for this forum and the bath forum, I'd be institutionalized by now! lol.

This lady has ... some ... cool!! Busy getting things ready ... with not much time to spare ... has a real spill ... that makes not just a plain=-run-of-the-mill mess ... ... but a really gooey one ... spread over a wide area ... with complications (which requires help fom the dogs to get cleaned up) .... And, with company due soon, comes to write an extended story to her cyber friends about the whole mess - ending up saying that the company is due in 20 min. or so: that's equanimity for you! This gal operates with appreciable cool! Of course ... she's a social worker. Hope you all had a great, accident-free, celebration. Lots of comments about the shiplap, which is the least of your worries, but I do have one suggestion! If you like the shiplap, continue it up the wall of the stairs. I think it’s amazing how the railing really shifted the stairs from appearing as a mistake to something intentional. It really looks great. Are you concerned about the space because you intended to place something like a table between the island and the stairs? It would be really hard for me to justify such a huge change so late in the game when it really looks great, but hearing you clarify that the changes to the stairs also impacted other parts of the floor plan we can’t really see from the pictures is rough. If this is the home you plan to stay in for many years, and you can swing it financially knowing it won’t add value to the home, I can see why you would consider it. I would be more concerned with underestimating how much time it would take to make those changes.

Hi everyone. Thanks to everyone who supported my decision to stop construction on my 90% completed shower. Heading all the advice provided by you all,I hired a contractor from this site who was willing to redo the original faulty shower. A huge thank you to Charles from 3R renovation for all your expertise and dedication to properly installing our dream shower! He completely removed the entire shower including the greenboard ceiling. He tiled over a Schluter system. It is now a beautiful room that will last.
