Need expert's advice on using marble and travertine mosaic tiles
Comments (5)Hey Auzzy, Great question. The salesperson at the tile store near me suggested a mosaic of tiny marble squares for my master bath shower floor. I asked if it would be a pain to keep clean, and she said, "No, not at all." She said that the marble and grout would be sealed upon installation. Now, after reading the John Bridge site (thanks for the reference - I didn't know about that) I am worried. I didn't buy anything yet, but am close to needing to put the order in so the materials will be ready in time for the contractor. In my last bathroom, I had a tub, but on the bathroom floor there was slate that was gorgeous. I did have to seal it every 6 months but it was very easy to do. If that would be good enough so we can get our stone shower floors, I'd be fine with it. Experts?...See MoreCream/white scheme, need color/lighting advice. Painting tomorrow
Comments (1)'Can't help you with the colors, but I just wanted to say that there was a topic here or in painting within the last 2 weeks where someone had painted their kitchen ceiling blue and the the blue was reflecting down on the top of their white walls and cabinets. I can't seem to find the exact topic so I don't know how the matter was resolved. Maybe someone else will remember....See MoreWhat color furniture goes with a dark green/brown wall scheme.
Comments (8)What color did you paint the walls? For walls or for bedding, I'd go with ivory or light beige, being careful it doesn't look yellow, not stark white. White might make the black furniture look harsher. Even though apple pie always has very good advice....See Moremaster refresh - what goes with travertine?
Comments (11)!st four photos 1 and 3 goes well becaues they are warm whites. 2 and 4 are cool colors and they don't go IMO. 2nd four photos 1. Maybe. Would want to see IRL for final decision. 2. Maybe but only because of island, backsplash and over cooktop mural. 3. Appear to blend due to warm color. 4. If you block the back wall and drawer hardware (just look at flower and tub/shower area, it is too stark and a warm/cool contrast. The only reason I see this photo semi-working (and again I would want to finalize my answer IRL) is the warm floor color is repeated on the back wall and drawer hardware/faucets....See Morespirit1004
