Brand new Bosch refrigerator not cooling properly
Comments (6)Curious, has your issue been resolved? I just bought the Bosch 800 side/side and is snugly fit into our cabinetry. The back is vented with plastic block spacers that come with the fridge, which may be just about 1 1/2 inches. And the top is vented with about 2 inches. The fan whirls on periodically and at times is quite loud, but the temps seem to be working properly....See MoreMy new cool way to baste my quilts
Comments (5)Hi, Vasu. I use Elmer's School Glue. I used to use it full strength, but now I mix it about 60/40 glue to water. There's less glue to wash out then, and of course it goes further. I tape my backing, right side down of course, to the hardwood floor with painters' tape, putting some tension on it to keep the wrinkles at bay. I spread the batting on the backing, smoothing it out just as if I were gluing it. Then I fold half of the batting back on itself and drizzle the glue right from the bottle back and forth over the exposed backing leaving 3-4" in between lines of glue. I then smooth the batting half back over the glued backing. I repeat the same thing with the second half of the batting. I smooth it out and make sure the glue is fully engaged. Then I do the same thing with the quilt top. Smooth, fold back, glue, unfold and smooth. It usually dries in two or three hours. After I quilt the sandwich and bind it, I wash it with as much water as I can, soaking it first if possible. It really works slick. If you hand stitch the binding, try to avoid getting glue too close to your stitching line. The glue can be really hard to penetrate when hand stitching. My machine goes right through it all easily with absolutely no gumming....See MoreMy 24 year old subzero refrigerator/freezer may need a new compressor
Comments (5)We have essentially the same fridge and it's about the same age. It's been working great for all these years. But it recently started leaking water on the floor every so often. Moisture control in the fridge doesn't quite work properly any more. And the ice maker stopped working completely. We had a service technician come out, and he said there really isn't much he can fix. But the moisture problems will eventually cause the fridge to develop a hole and at that point it's officially dead. Unless of course, the compressor dies before then. It keeps make clonking noises which are in indicator that it is reaching end of life as well. We are on borrowed time here. It might still work another year, or maybe two. But it could just as well die the next day. And as you stated, replacing the fridge means making changes to the 20 year old cabinets. Our conclusion was that we could either keep throwing money at a half-baked solution; or we could use this as the excuse to finally do the big kitchen remodel that we had been planning for 10 years. We are doing the latter, but we are in a bit of a holding pattern, as our contractor has difficulty scheduling the project and all the required subs. And just for the record, 20 odd years is a really good time for fridge. We are going to get another SubZero. If it gets anywhere close to 20 years, we'll be quite happy....See MoreHelp with my new backsplash? Cool tile splash vs warm gray cabs
Comments (10)I like these pendants. even just with doing the picture, it makes a diff! these are prob at least 14" in diameter. you wouldn't want to go much bigger. the weathered bronze color on the rim goes well w/your cabinets. I gave your the sconces over the shelving. it's prob too late, but I do like them. except I wouldn't do black,I'd do the white w/nickel base. as for the lights elsewhere, they don't have to be expensive. The entryway light is fine. just upgrade your bulbs. if you go to an actual lighting store, they have a ton of bulbs you can choose from. get the LEDs since you can do more wattage for better lighting. (and they don't make the room hot). this is a pic of the kitchen w/those pendants (from Savoy House. seeded glass). https://www.houzz.com/products/pendant-lighting/manufacturer--savoyhouselighting1/p/36?oq= so you can see the other light they used https://www.homebunch.com/new-home-plan-ideas/ here's the entire house^ Savoy House is here on houzz. here is another one of theirs:...See More- 4 years ago
