I agree it doesn't look right and I'm sure the pros on here will have ideas but I would paint the walls the same color as the tile. The beige isn't working. Is this a new remodel? Looks like there are cracks in the ceiling ?

Thank you, jck910. I'm definitely painting the beige to the right, do you think painting it the color of the ceiling would work? Re: cracks, I think you may be seeing some photo artifact or the texture on the ceiling - no cracks.

tile works with ceiling/. tile works with cabinets/ tile works with long handles. Tile does not work with wall color. tile possibly is not working so well w pendants. WALL color easiest to change.....but pendant light change depending on what youd pick could maybe be a key element...along w items placed on shelves.....so if you have fatigue you can paint a bit later...consider pendant shopping/browsing now.....and yes put things on your shelves on the wall. It wall all be fine w the tile and grout...... a little glam!!!!! [get different pendants]

Yes to different pendants, thank you!! They just seem too yellow now. Maybe something bigger with more glass?

sketch out depth and width of island..position of cooktop{is it centered ?} overhang dimension and presence of more can lights the length of island..or not? To me, they look a little low...I'd want to use the 3 positions w new ones...but when you raise up height I think the diameter can be wider...you can get different things going here ...mixed metals...clear glass..milky glass.....A lighting store pro, w catalogues handy can help w specs of dimensions and height options . just not sure...keeping low I think you have to stay slender but maybe squared off and edges w metal trim.... dozens of ways to take it. There will be many to inspire a different aesthetic w the tile.

Yes I agree... change pendants before you do anything else.
Put everything back on shelves then live with it a bit.
It’s a lovely kitchen.
Most people just look at overall look of room and don’t pick apart details.

Dear Beth thank you! i love the first two in particular! Of course this is the problem with open concept, it ideally probably means changing out the chandelier and the fixture over the table and the entry way, all of which have that warm amber color, which is beyond my scope at the moment. I'll just start with the pendants and see if I can get away with that.

Thank you also for the education on 4000-3500K. I always thought warmer was better for light, but it is really too yellow against weathered white tiles.

I like these pendants. even just with doing the picture, it makes a diff!

these are prob at least 14" in diameter. you wouldn't want to go much bigger.

the weathered bronze color on the rim goes well w/your cabinets.

I gave your the sconces over the shelving. it's prob too late, but I do like them. except I wouldn't do black,I'd do the white w/nickel base.

as for the lights elsewhere, they don't have to be expensive. The entryway light is fine. just upgrade your bulbs. if you go to an actual lighting store, they have a ton of bulbs you can choose from. get the LEDs since you can do more wattage for better lighting. (and they don't make the room hot).
