Advice needed regarding sectional sofa dilemma
Comments (5)That is the only living space in the house. It's a townhouse we're renting for a year or two. We sacrificed on space to be close to the beach, which has been an awesome choice, until Irma, of course. We don't have any other "real" furniture for the living area, and we wanted to avoid purchasing anything until we bought a home, but when the old sofa had to go, we had to replace that. So we don't have any other seating, but it's really not a big deal. We don't have kids or family in the area, and we don't have a bunch of people over at one time, so the sectional is enough for our current needs. Is there anything in particular you would suggest for ottomans? I would like something that fits physically with the sofa to get something close to a chaise feel without having to close off the space permanently as you would with a chaise. Finding the right size is important too, as I dislike the really big ottomans for sectionals; they take up way too much space and prevent the use of a coffee table....See MoreDifficulty finding High and Deep sofas
Comments (30)I have a few sofas and chairs from Cisco Brothers Furniture. They were done custom to my measurements and with my own fabric. They are made here in Los Angeles, so I'm lucky to be able to go directly to one of their stores, but their products are also sold through other furniture shops throughout the US. I worked with one of the owners and they take pride in their products. http://ciscobrothers.com/ I also had a large sectional custom sized by Century Furniture. A bit harder to deal with because it was through a designer and the LA Mart, so too many middlemen complicating things. http://www.centuryfurniture.com/...See MoreEnglish Roll Arm Sofas that are not deep
Comments (3)The english roll arm is designed to be luxuriously deep seated, with a pitched back for comfort.. In fact, 24 inches is quite common. To mess too much with depth, destroys the proportional intent of a classic design. If you want a more upright back, shallower seat depth, select a different style altogether....or add toss pillows: )...See MoreDeep seating sofas or sectionals
Comments (1)How deep of a sectional do you want? Looks like the RH Cloud comes in either 22.5" or 25" seat depth. I recently bought a Taylor King sectional from their Taylor Made line in Plush depth, which is 24". I'm 5'6" and my feet do dangle but the depth from back to my knee is just fine. My husband is 6'3" and his feet touch. I generally prefer to curl up with my feet up rather than sitting properly, so this works for us. I am very pleased with the quality and comfort. Previously I had a 27" depth Room & Board sectional that was not comfortable for sitting because of the depth. The first is the brand, the second part are lines that had depths 23-24". Taylor King - Taylor Made Plush Depth Sherrill - 9600 & 9700 Design Your Own Way Rowe - Fuller & My Style I Maidenhome - Sullivan King Hickory - Winston & Benson Hickory White - Custom Luxury Depth Norwalk - Kent The bottom line is that there are plenty of sectional manufacturers out there that offer 22"+ depths. You just need to do the research and legwork to find one that works for you....See MoreAnne Duke
