linelle - Painting the DW was pretty painless. DH removed the door panel, which also has the sides on it on my KA model, and I took it out back and scrubbed it with soapy water, rinsed well and let dry. Then, I lightly scuffed with fine grit sandpaper like 180 or 220 and wiped down with a dry, lint free cloth. Sprayed first coat and let dry, then sprayed second coat and let dry. DH put the panel back on and you can see the result below. As I said though, I want to try and see if I can paint the plastic part at the top with that Krylon paint that fuses with plastic so it won't wear off. The door latch is in that part (obviously) and gets touched a lot so I want something that will last. The appliance epoxy I used was a Rustoleum product. It looks so much better painted than the white is used to be, but not nearly as nice as an actual SS DW will when I can afford it. I'm planning to paint my fridge also with the same paint at some point as it is all white too. Much bigger job than just the DW door panel, however. Before: After with partial backsplash install.

Apologies for not posting sooner. I ran a search for both paint and dye. Both have some cautious applications. Plus I got tired of seeing Simply Spray come up 75% of the time. Could not find auto fabric spray once used. It was probably an issue like stippers are now. Too strong for the EPA to allow. And can't remember how long my project lasted from years ago. Things mentioned about all fabric sprays: Takes far more than expected as it seeps into the padding too. Very difficult to cover evenly, even with a second coat. All have a rough texture afterwards. They are primarily used for vynal and very low carpet. The type of material is a big issue. Thorough cleaning and drying prior is a definite. Stains will still be there. I looked up carpet dye too, but this wears off in time, even if professionally done. An issue with other paints/dyes. Cost for the appplication is huge, paint doesn't go very far. One thing that I did find was a gal that used the acrylic fabric paint in bottles from the hobby store. She used the extender with it and a small roller to roll on the fabric. Looked good and I know this is soft after use. So, I'm of no help with this. But perhaps try the idea above on the underside of your couch.

I have dining room chairs that are almost exactly like yours. Mine are gorgeous cherry wood and the only difference is my back dips down where yours curves up. I wouldn't paint them, the wood is gorgeous. Mine are sturdy as all get out. The set you posted is cheap on Craigslist because folks don't want "brown" formal furniture anymore. I have seen pictures and decorating shows that have those kind of chairs painted and considered painting mine. I decided if it ain't broke don't fix it. I am going with their beauty and positive aspects in my dining room. There's something cool about formal dining rooms. But if you don't like that look at all, why buy formal dining chairs and try to change them? Buy something informal that is made to look informal instead of trying to put a round peg into a square hole. On the flips side, my wood looks good, but if that set has old worn crappy finish then painting is not that much of a tragedy. Oh, and P.S. if you don't want the ones without arms, I would take them in a heartbeat, but I don't know where you live, probably too far away. I don't like the look of mismatched chairs and I am two armless chairs short for my set. My DR is too small for the armed chairs and I am thinking about taking off the arms of mine, but if I move I might regret it. Here's a photo of mine. Of course they will be recovered when I get the time. Those shorter modern ones I would paint in the heartbeat, the wood is nothing special. I'm not painting them because I intend to eventually rotate them out. These photos are just ones I posted for ideas on how to redo my dining room. It's not how I envision it right now, it is a work in progress.

Katrina, definitely not offended lol. I am very used to house and you will get 100 suggestions, i take the ones i like and use the others for lessons learned lol. For the bedding, i usually switch out my comforter set every month so the silver will make a reappearance. I have 4 sets that i rotate. Believe me, i agree with you that the clock will look better over the chair, i just really like the two paintings and the Art Deco wall. I always wanted one. So some things are style, and some things are just personal touches and things that i personally enjoy but i do appreciate all feedback because you could have chosen to bypass my post but you didn’t. I appreciate you :) i will move the throw and put it on the bed in the corner.i will also move the clock.
