Updating the exterior of our home
Comments (9)Eliminating the curved elements of the facade would help to modernize it- the arched windows ( are they new? ) , the curved brick walls along the sides of the garage and right front of the house. Simplifying the exterior, removing the boxed out structure in the garage gable, removing the trim pieces along the garage wall, squaring off the garage door openings, all would update the appearance. Comments (10)Romabio for your stone. The Classico is a lime wash. Romabio also has masonry paint that will give you a thicker coverage. I suggest you search out Romabio before and after (on stone facades) so you can see the transformations That pink stone around your garage is horrible w/the coloring of the house. I'd paint all of that in a heartbeat....See MoreSuggestions for updating exterior of small 1950s stucco house
Comments (18)I think I like the lighter color you're using @celerygirl. I'm pretty sure that that's what I've decided on. I', also going to add the address like you did as well. Great idea!! But I think I'll likely go with a solid color awning once I figure out what color. I'm generally not the biggest fan of stripes. And I like what both you and @Yardvaark did with the space right in fron tof the house so I'll be doing something along the lines of what you two have done there. Thanks again for your help! I really appreciate it!!...See MoreHelp with updating our traditional Tudor home with stone exterior.

Then see if SW Urbane Bronze works well with it for the trim. Charcoal gray would work with a lighter more neutral stucco, but make sure that it is a tone of gray that works well with the stones. The yellow has to go, definitely!...See MoreBeverlyFLADeziner
