Living Room - Gray/Black White Green

New apartment. Need help on what to add, i like minimalism but it’s just a sectional couch, rug, tv/stand, frame, and a plant right now. Seems too empty, no?

First thing I’ll be doing is replacing the TV stand. Next I’ll go for a larger canvas art to replace the Dali painting, but use same colors. What would YOU do?

Like you, I'd replace the stand for a bigger one (and probably lower too)

I'd look into changing the ceiling light (there are some very cool ones, flush mounts, semi flush mounts..I wouldn't pass this opportunity to express my love for lights)) and adding couple more layers of lighting-a floor lamp? a table lamp? for you to have the ligth according to tasks/mood needed. Maybe there are more lights, I can't see them on the pics.

I'd add a coffee table (or something that functions like it)-because it's simply more comfortable when one's lounging..you have space to put there a cup, a tray, a book, glasses..

I didn't have coffee table until 10 years ago..I never realized what I'm missing. Now when I have it I must admit it is more comfortable to have one. You can choose not to add side tables, or add only one, as not to overwhelm the balance that you strive to create.

Empty doesn't bother me, it's a personal choice and I like negative space.

Yet whatever contributes to function and comfort -maybe worth looking into, because that what will ultimately make a room working as you want it to work.

Can't say anything about art-art is very personal. You love something else-go for it.

Own or rent? If rent, what are you allowed to change?
If you own, I’d change ceiling light with a statement fixture.
Long low TV stand and mount TV, but not too high. If it spans most of wall, you could add art on either side of TV.
Coffee table or even ottoman style so you can put up feet. How many people in household? You may need at least 1 more piece of seating- swivel chair?
Dining space is separate?
If you can paint, paint the walls- they looks a bit faded yellow but that may just be the photo and lighting

Thank you guys. I really appreciate your help. My brain is fried and this decision has to be made immediately. gthigpen....I freaked out when I realized that the white was going to be a mistake. I cancelled it just in time but they are waiting on me to call in the color so it can be ordered. Sad for you that you didn't catch it...I hate regrets. My dd did the same thing with penny tile and white grout. A sea of white. Ugh. It's still pretty but she hates it. Gthigpen and Jackie...I see that you are using several colors of grout. I don't have that in me and I don't have a designer to advise me. I wish I did. Do you think it will be ok to choose one grout color i.e.; Silverado...and use it on all of the tile in three different bathrooms for simplicity's sake??? I have subway in two showers and in one tub surround. And the black and white on three floors and two shower floors. Here are some pics. Please advise and thank you so much for any wise words.

double curtain rod for every window.and enough white sheers for each.like 6 or 8 maybe .that should get you through summer ,abreezy simple look to start. then findsome light grey or medium to dark blue more formalish type curains for winter.

So the sofa, rug and table are here! I just have to put the table and sofa together this weekend. I chose art that I decided on and a few throws that I'm choosing between. I'm starting to look at curtains since my goal is to get everything ready be New Years (hopefully!) But I'm really stuck on what kind of curtains to get. With these art and throw choices, I guess the room is more....eclectic. I'm not sure whether to get solid curtains or patterned ones since the rug is pretty patterned already. Here is the art/throws I picked out. I will have these two art side by side behind the sofa. I'm still deciding whether to get 15x21 or 20x26 for the art. I guess I'll have a better idea once the sofa/table is set up. For the throws, I'm getting two of the beige ones for the back pieces and the black/white floral and red one for the 2 front pieces. Now for the curtains.....it's the hardest to really decide. I don't even know where to start!

Plant needs to go up to ceiling - go big or go home! You have the room to get dramatic in that corner. However, be aware of the baseboard heating as you do that. Bring plant container away from the corner, and get a plant that is heat tolerant - (have a conversation with the pros at your plant store). Also, depends on how warm/cool you like it in this room.

Lighting - ceiling light in living room doesn't do anyone any favors. Much better is a table lamp or wall sconce in each corner at chest height.
