I just found this online via a google search. I like how it looks. They have white trim with honey oak cabinets. I think it will look just as good with honey oak trim.

Adding: this is the granite I plan on using. I don't think the picture showed up above. It is called fantasy brown. I also plan on using white subway tile like in this picture. I will be using the 12" tile instead. My appliances are black. I get a bit of an idea of how it will look via the black microwave. I think the appliances will be fine. I will be using a black faucet. Someone in another thread mentioned that the black hardware I was going to use might not work. I tried imagining black hardware in this kitchen and I think it would be overwhelming.

The slab I found says "brushed" and has a texture instead of being smooth. What do you

know about that?? This is an "entry level" granite. It is the least expensive granite they have. Is there anything I should know? This granite is beautiful!!

I agree that black would look better. My son really wants light granite. There are some warm specks in the granite. But, I agree that overall it is cool. Here are a couple of options that I liked at home depot. But, I think they're both as cool as fantasy brown.

Of all of the samples I had these were the top 3. Finding something to compliment warm oak has been a bigger challenge that I ever thought it would be. I like the dark sample but my son doesn't want a dark floor at all. He also doesn't want a lot of variance.

Would you consider a site-finished hardwood floor? You could then stain it any color you want that would work with the cabinets. If you got an oak floor and just put polyurethane on it you'd match the cabinet color, which even if not my preference, would look better than any of the samples above.

Regarding the counter tops, if your son doesn't want dark, then a plain or subtly patterned white would work best.

But you need to satisfy him, as he is the one who will live there. :)

Or instead of adding another wood grain how about Coretec Noce Travertine? It's warmer than real Travertine, with no hint of pink, and just quietly sits in the background.

I think having hardwood put down is cost prohibitive.

I feel like waving the white flag. I am not sure where to turn next.

I know LVP is all the rage right now but I've never been a fan of real wood with fake wood next to it. In painted kitchens this isn't an issue.

I think LVT will have better options that won't clash with the oak cabinets.

I talked to Shaw. I really think they manufacture coretec also ... I didn't ask but one of the products they recommended was by Coretec. Anyway, the person I got in touch with has the same cabinets as me. She gave me a few suggestions.

I haven't tried any of these. The coretec she suggested has enhanced bevels that I have been avoiding. Therefore, it might have been at the flooring store but in the section I wasn't looking. I haven't taken home any of Shaw's products. I really haven't looked at Shaw. I didn't really want varied length boards but I will overlook that as long as I feel it will look good in the space. I also don't think the tile would look good on the whole floor. Maybe in the bathroom but not the entire space.

Isn't remodeling suppose to be fun??!!
