White Paint Dilemma - Need Help!

James Griggs

I'm doing a full house remodel in San Diego with a modern farmhouse vibe. We recently painted the exterior of the house (hardy board) in RH's The Right White and it looks great against the black windows, white oak pivot door and metal roof.

The big dilemma right now is the kitchen/interior whites. We are planning on an oak island (black) with white shaker cabinets on the back wall. I seem to see a lot of modern farmhouse kitchens where the kitchen shaker cabinets are painted the same white as the walls/ceilings. Curious what you all think of this? I like the look but am looking for a little confirmation that Im not seeing things when I look at some of the awesome images on Houzz.

I will be using modern matte black hardware on the cabinets, Cle Tiles Zellige for the back splash (Snow color), and Caesar Stone Fresh Concrete for the countertop. The flooring is white oak (with a reclaimed look). Whole house has a restoration hardware vibe.

Thanks so much for your advice!
